Private NC plane crashes outside Pitt-Greenville Airport, police say
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCN/WNCT) — Emergency crews responded to a private plane crash on Friday morning in Greenville.
The crash involving a Beech A36 Bonanza aircraft occurred around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of North Memorial Drive and Belvoir Road, close to the Pitt-Greenville Airport.
According to an official with the Greenville Police Department, officers and the Greenville Fire and Rescue Department are working to secure the area and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
No word yet on injuries or fatalities as a result of this crash. Officers said in a social media release that North Memorial Drive is expected to be closed all day. Drivers are asked to avoid the road, as well as nearby roads.
