Appleton Fire Department Lieutenant retires after 26 years of serving community
APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) – The Appleton Fire Department is celebrating the career of one of its Lieutenants who is retiring after serving the city for 26 years.
Lt. Greg Cullen's time with the Appleton Fire Department began in March 1999 as a firefighter, before he was promoted to a driver/engineer in 2007.

Lt. Cullen was promoted to the Lieutenant role in 2009, and has served in the role since.
'Greg will always cherish the camaraderie and humor that made life at the firehouse unforgettable,' the Appleton Fire Department said on Facebook. 'Every crew brought its own mix of laughter, inside jokes and unique personalities, making the toughest days a little lighter.'
The post also added a bit of advice from Lt. Cullen for newer recruits, 'Always question the origin of your nickname!'
