Greggs has launched a host of new additions to its menu The new range includes bakes, sandwiches, sweet treats, drinks and more I tried three new menu items and here is what I thought Iconic bakery chain Greggs has launched brand-new menu items, which includes a bake, korean chicken range, sweet treats, iced and hot coffees and much more. As a massive fan of Greggs (I'm a North East girl, sausage rolls are in my blood), I was super excited to give a few of its new menu items a try for myself. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Greggs kindly sent me three new items to try, which included the Red Pepper, Feta and Spinach Bake, Lemon Meringue Muffin and the Iced Caramelised Biscuit Latte. Greggs launches brand-new menu additions - and here is what I thought | Hope and Glory I first tried the Red Pepper, Feta and Spinach Bake, which from the outside looked absolutely delicious down to Greggs' iconic mouth-watering pastry. The bake itself was nice enough, but not something I would purchase again. It had a very prominent red pepper flavour with a hint of spice. I really enjoyed the bake, but I personally love the addition of meat in a bake, and I felt that it was missing from the flavour and texture. If you are not a meat-eater though, this could be the bake for you. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad I then tried the Lemon Meringue Muffin, which was delicious although very sweet. I'm not someone who purchases a sweet treat often, but this is a great choice who wants a little sweet kick now and again. Including lemon was a great move from Greggs in my opinion as it truly is the fruit of the season. Finally, I took a sip of the Iced Caramelised Biscuit Latte, leaving the best til last as I was super excited for it. I absolutely love iced coffee, I'm always willing to try new flavours and this flavour certainly intrigued me. The Iced Caramelised Biscuit Latte was absolutely lovely, with a very strong coffee flavour and hint of sweetness. The name of the latte made me think it would be a lot sweeter than it actually was, but I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. As part of its new menu offerings, Greggs has also introduced a Korean chicken sandwich range, brand-new pizza slice, Balanced Choice breakfast option and much more. Brits 'triggered' after American tries Greggs for the first time
An American man named Russel tried a selection of Greggs' baked goods for the first time, but his review of the items left many Brits 'triggered' Greggs, the much-loved bakery chain that's a staple among Brits for its easy-on-the-pocket offerings and range of classic comfort food – not to forget the famed sausage roll – has found its way into many a traveller's must-visit list, especially tourists hitting UK shores eager to sample its renowned delights. When an American, Russell, wanted to tick off classic British foods from his checklist, he sampled meal deals from numerous supermarkets before his trip to Greggs sparked quite the online debate amongst Brits. Going by @redbusruss on TikTok, Russell ventured into Greggs to pick up a Cheese and Onion Bake, Chicken Bake, Steak Bake, and the beloved Sausage Roll. However, what really 'triggered' Brits was Russell's use of the word bread instead of pastry. Sampling the Cheese and Onion Bake, Russell extolled its "nice, creamy filling" and applauded the so-called "bread" for being "nice and flaky", declaring, "I really enjoyed that, it was decently filling," and gave it a solid seven out of ten. On to the Chicken Bake, he drew parallels with a "good chicken pot pie", commending "The flakiness of the bread and the creamy chicken filling is really satisfying". His only gripe was that he wished there were more chicken pieces inside. Wrapping up his culinary review, Russ concluded: "Overall it's not a bad bake. It's ok, I would say," dishing out a six out of ten. Russell seemed pleasantly surprised with the Steak Bake, saying it was "really not bad" and was impressed by the generous amount of "actual steak" within, likening it to "It's like a good steak and gravy dinner inside a flaky pastry,". His verdict? A solid 7.5 out of 10 was in order. On the flip side, the famous Sausage Roll didn't quite hit the same heights for him. Despite being the "most spoken about" item he's encountered and seeing why people "like them", he said it failed to blow him away. Even so, he said it was "decently seasoned," and enjoyable to eat. He gave it a seven out of 10 score. Russell's candid takes sparked lively banter among followers in the comments. One user humorously pointed out: "Calling it bread is triggering me, but I'll let it slide because you are one of the few people to give a good, honest review lmao." Another chimed in disbelievingly: "BREAD!??? I work for Greggs mate and it is not bread," and a third echoed the sentiment, stressing, "It's not bread dude: it's pastry." While some reactions were tinged with humour: "7.5 for a steak bake is scandalous," others were playfully disputatious, arguing: "Chicken bake is stupendous." One commenter even jestingly remarked: "How can you score below 10? it's Greggs!". One cheeky remark questioned Russell's taste critique abilities: "Steak bake getting only a 7.5 makes me seriously consider your judgement. Absolutely no respect". As passionate discussions about the ratings took place, there were also suggestions urging him to try the Sausage, Bean and Cheese Melt for the ultimate Greggs experience, culminating with another follower chiming in with a warm, "Glad you enjoyed them".

Bradford scheme to build ethnic minority women's career confidence
Fifteen women within ethnic minority groups in Bradford have applied for apprenticeships with First Bus, following a partnership between the bus operator and charity-based community centre WomenZone, which helps ethnic minority women to build career confidence. The partnership entails one-to-one mentoring, the teaching of interview skills, and "tailored training." Following workshops held at First Bus's depots in Leeds, and the community centre on Hubert Street in Bradford, 15 women applied for apprenticeships in engineering and driving roles with the bus operator. Other women, meanwhile, have gained the confidence to look for jobs elsewhere. One of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Ayesha, said: "The First Bus interview skills workshop helped me to confidently answer questions, practice my interview technique, and deliver a successful interview, and I now have a job working at Greggs' factory and warehousing department. "The support from First Bus and WomenZone was really good as this was the first time I practised interviews." Another WomenZone member, who has been able to secure employment in the care sector, said: "I learned techniques that I used in my interview and now have a great job that I am so happy with." Mazish Ahmed, operations manager of WomenZone, said: "This partnership with First Bus has had a profound impact already, boosting confidence and providing invaluable tools for career success for the women who took part. "At WomenZone we continue to be excited by the ongoing work with First Bus, creating further opportunities of development, growth for our community, and boosting the chances of the local youth, who otherwise would not have had this opportunity." First Bus plans to organise a series of sessions at its Shared Services Centre in Leeds, covering customer services, HR, procurement, and retail development, with the aim of improving understanding of office-based roles and skills. Mubs Mahmed, community and social value partner at First Bus North & West Yorkshire, said: "The willingness and determination shown by the members of WomenZone and its team to embrace learning and skills development has been inspiring, and is the key element in the success we have seen to date. "We're naturally delighted this has encouraged some women to look at job opportunities with us, but it is also very rewarding to know that new careers have been started in other business and service sectors."
