Glasgow roads will be closed for West End street party
The event, called Ashton Lane Opening Street Party and Vinicombe Street Party, will take place from Friday, May 31, to Saturday, June 1. It will feature live music, food, drinks, and giveaways for attendees. A prohibition on waiting, loading, and unloading will be in place on certain roads from 3pm on Thursday, May 30, until Saturday, June 1. On Friday, May 31, there will be a prohibition of vehicle movement on the affected roads, beginning at 6am, and ending at 11:59 pm on Saturday, June 1. The affected roads are: Ashton Lane, for its whole length Ashton Lane North, for its whole length Great George Lane, for its whole length Vinicombe Street between Cransworth Street and Byres Road READ MORE: Tragedy as motorcyclist dies after crash with Land Rover near Glasgow However, allowances will be given to emergency service vehicles carrying out an emergency response. Temporary traffic measures are being implemented to ensure the safety of the event and other road users. The street party will feature performances from DJs, as well as offerings from a wide range of local businesses. These will include the Grosvenor Café, Innis & Gunn, Vodka Wodka, Jinty McGuinty's, Ramen Dayo, Ashoka, The Gardener, Sano Pizza, and Ubiquitous Chip. The event is free to the public, providing an opportunity for people to enjoy the vibrant community atmosphere of Ashton Lane and Vinicombe Street.

Ashton Lane Street Party to return to Glasgow next month
The Ashton Lane Summer Street Party will take over the cobbled lane for a full weekend of live music, street performers, DJs, street food and alfresco drinks on Saturday, May 31 and Sunday, June 1. It will take place from 12-10pm on Saturday and 12-7pm on Sunday. READ NEXT: Legendary comedy club to move to new venue after 25 years (Image: itison) There will be food stalls and drink offerings from the bars lining the street including Grosvenor Café, Innis & Gunn, Vodka Wodka, Jinty McGuinty's, Ramen Dayo, Ashoka, The Gardener, Sano Pizza, and Ubiquitous Chip. Brel will have a Garden Stage hosting free acoustic sessions and DJs throughout the weekend alongside a line-up of Belgian beers, summer cocktails and seasonal dishes served in its beer garden. The Ashton Lane Summer Street Party is free to attend and open to all ages.
