Grove Schools express appreciation for Cherokee Nation's financial gift
GROVE, Okla. — Grove Superintendent Pat Dodson publicly thanked Cherokee Nation Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. for the monetary gift, which was part of a multi-million-dollar funding program for schools within the tribe's reservation.
Dodson praised Hoskin, the special speaker for the Rotary meeting on Wednesday.
Cherokee Nation contributed $7.6 million to 107 school districts as part of the tribe's 2025 Public School Appreciation Day with area educators.
On behalf of Grove Public Schools, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. and the Cherokee Nation for their ongoing support and commitment to public education. We are deeply appreciative of the generous funding that was made possible through the sale of tribal car tags.

Dodson praised Hoskin, 'for your unwavering dedication to the success of our students and our schools. Your leadership and generosity are a true reflection of the Cherokee Nation's commitment to empowering the next generation.'
Delaware County schools received $538,367.10. Grove schools received a check for $137,535.80, Dodson said.
The monetary gift 'will make a significant difference in the lives of our students and staff,' Dodson said. 'This funding is invaluable in enhancing the educational opportunities we can provide and supporting our continued efforts to build a bright future for our community.'
He said that the Cherokee Nation is dedicated to investing in all students' futures.
'The combined total of $538,000 awarded to Delaware County schools is an excellent example of how these funds are being distributed equitably and purposefully to support educational excellence,' Dodson said.
