‘Si Eun and Su Ho were in love': Weak Hero Class director reveals whether it's romance, leaves Park Ji Hoon stunned
Weak Hero Class 2 premiered, and while the show has been a bit disappointing for Manhwa fans, the K-drama is performing well globally. Season 1 also gained traction on Netflix as Season 2 wrapped up. However, instead of focusing on Si Eun's new bond with Baku and Gotak, fans are still holding on to the bromance between Si Eun and Su Ho, and now, even the director seems to have joined the conversation. During Netflix's Homecoming GV (Guest Visit), the cast from both seasons reunited to share their thoughts and experiences. Choi Hyun Wook couldn't stop gushing about his love for Park Ji Hoon. Meanwhile, director Yoo Soo Min recalled, telling the boys that their bond was giving off 'melodrama' vibes.

Weak Hero Class director on whether the show was romance or bromance
One of the biggest reasons behind Weak Hero Class 1's on-screen success was the bond between Choi Hyun Wook (Su Ho) and Park Ji Hoon (Si Eun). The pain of the bullied teenager, the long stares, the helplessness in their eyes, their meaningful friendship, the way a loner like Si Eun's face used to light up with Su Ho's presence, all of it made viewers deeply invested in their emotional storyline, despite the show being primarily an actioner. There were already theories running wild that the show intended to show more than just bromance, and now director Yoo has said, 'I think they were in love.' He revealed, 'I told the two actors that this was close to being a melodrama. I'm revealing this now, but I intended for that feeling,' Yoo Soo Min added.
The sudden confession sparked a shocked reaction from Park Ji Hoon, who looked at the director in complete disbelief, and if that wasn't hilarious enough, Choi Hyun Wook almost slipped into talking 'love again' before stopping himself mid-sentence. The clip has since gone viral on social media. Si Eun and Su Ho's shippers weighed in, even in the original manhwa, their relationship never had a label; it was always left open for interpretation, whether it was romance or just an emotional bonding.

In Weak Hero Class 2, we see Su Ho's character in a coma for the entire run, and it's only in the final scene that he wakes up, with the show wrapping up without teasing anything about Season 3. During the reunion, Park Ji Hoon didn't shy away from calling Su Ho his character Si Eun's 'first love' and looked right at Choi Hyun Wook, who was smiling ear to ear. 'They're such special friends that, honestly, even if you wanted to forget them, you couldn't. It's like you keep looking for your friends subconsciously… for Si Eun, it's kind of like a first love, a little bit…' he said. He also added that the story wasn't just about the violence; it quietly wove a beautiful tale between the two characters. For Si Eun, it was always Su Ho, not even his parents could read him inside out the way Su Ho could.

Is Weak Hero class 3 happening
While Netflix is yet to confirm a third season, according to the manhwa, it shouldn't happen, since it ends with Baek Jin's death. Many have theorised that Su Ho might join Eunjang alongside Si Eun and his new friends in their senior years. Even during the recent Netflix event, Choi Hyun Wook directly addressed the crowd and asked, 'Don't you want to see Su Ho and Baku together?' leading the director to flash a cross sign, as if he wasn't allowed to tease anything further. If a third season is on board, it will most likely be an original story.
