Greensboro police release image of suspect vehicle involved in school bus hit-and-run

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — The Greensboro Police Department has released an image of the vehicle suspected to be involved in a recent hit-and-run crash with a Guilford County School bus. On April 7 at 3:42 p.m., emergency crews responded to the crash at the intersection of Bridford Parkway and Hornaday Road. Several students were on the bus at the time of the crash. The bus driver and a student were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. According to the GPD, the initial investigation determined the bus was traveling south on Bridford Parkway, passing through the intersection of Hornaday Road with a green light, when a car approached from the north on Bridford Parkway, made an improper left turn across several lanes of Bridford Parkway and failed to yield to the bus when the crash happened. The car then fled on Hornaday Road toward Guilford College Road. The suspect vehicle is described as a teal mid-1990s to early 2000s Mercedes-Benz E-Class with dark-tinted windows, a tinted back windshield, a sunroof and gray stock wheel covers. It should have damage, missing a rear passenger side brake lens cover and rear bumper protective strip. This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
