Guinyard's 18 lead UT Martin over Tennessee Tech 70-67 in Ohio Valley Conference Tournament
EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Tarence Guinyard had 18 points in UT Martin's 70-67 victory against Tennessee Tech on Wednesday in the opening game of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Eighth-seeded UTM will play fourth-seeded Little Rock in a quarterfinal Thursday. Guinyard added six rebounds for the Skyhawks (14-18). Matija Zuzic scored 10 points, going 2 of 7 from the floor, including 2 for 5 from 3-point range, and 4 for 5 from the line. Lamine Niang had eight points and finished 4 of 5 from the floor.

(AP) — Tarence Guinyard had 23 points in UT Martin's 76-71 victory over SIU-Edwardsville on Thursday night. Guinyard shot 8 for 20 (4 for 9 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line for the Skyhawks (11-15, 7-8 Ohio Valley Conference). Matija Zuzic added 12 points and five rebounds. Josue Grullon had 11 points. The Cougars (17-9, 10-5) were led in scoring by Ring Malith, who finished with 22 points, seven rebounds and two steals. Brian Taylor II added 16 points, five assists and three steals for SIU-Edwardsville. Ray'Sean Taylor had eight points, seven assists and two steals. NEXT UP ___

(AP) — Tarence Guinyard scored 20 points to help UT Martin end a five-skid by handing Western Illinois its 10th straight loss, 81-70 on Saturday. Guinyard added six rebounds for the Skyhawks (10-15, 6-8 Ohio Valley Conference), who snapped a five-game losing streak. Vladimer Salaridze totaled 18 points and six rebounds. Filip Radakovic had 11 points. The Leathernecks (8-17, 2-12) were led by Marko Maletic with 27 points. Trey Deveaux added 17 points and seven rebounds. Ryan Myers finished with 12 points. The loss is the 10th straight for the Leathernecks. ___
