Organizations in Ahmedabad to mark World Environment Day with events and activities
Ahmedabad: City-based organisations, schools, and NGOs will mark World Environment Day with a slew of activities on Thursday.
At the Centre for Environment Education (CEE), the activities will start at 7.30 am with a birdwatching trail on the campus premises, followed by a photography and reel-making competition, nature trail, treasure hunt, pottery, puppetry, and a movie with a nature conservation theme.
"There are also green games and plays organised for participants," said a senior CEE official.
Events are also organised at Sundarvan in Satellite on Wednesday.
The Gujarat Council on Science and Technology (GUJCost) will celebrate the day on the theme 'End Plastic Pollution.' The outreach programmes will take place at regional science centres and district-level community science centres. "The event will feature a range of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness and driving action against plastic pollution. The key highlights include a Cloth Bag Making Hands-on Workshop to promote sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics.
A Waste to Wealth Model Exhibition will showcase innovative ideas and projects that transform waste materials into valuable products," said officials.
Several schools and colleges will also organise events on the theme of the day.
