Gul Panag on all things gold! Says her husband has always surprised her with the yellow metal as a gift

Gul Panag At a recent event Gul Panag was seen flaunting aviation inspired jewellry. The actress loves gems and jewels but she's drawn towards more wearable pieces. She tells us, 'I've always been drawn to jewellery that's wearable—pieces that don't just sit in a locker but actually become part of your everyday or personal style. For me, the value of jewellery comes from how seamlessly it can be worn, how it fits into your life rather than just symbolising it.' The actress who's a pilot, was enamoured seeing pieces inspired by runway and became a part of the Runway Collection launch. She said, 'As a pilot, seeing a collection that draws inspiration from aviation—necklaces, brooches, even watch charms designed around the concept of flying—felt very personal. There's something special about jewellery that speaks to your passions.' Ask her about her inclination towards gold, and the Dor actress says, 'Gold has always been a part of my life, but I wouldn't say I'm rigid about it. I also respect what gold has represented over the years, especially in Indian households—stability, tradition, even empowerment. I started working at 20, and I remember one of my first big purchases was gold in 2002. It was Rupees 3,500 for 10 grams back then. I bought a pair of earrings for Rupees 25,000. Every year, especially around Dhanteras, I'd buy something—small or big. It was my way of slowly building something valuable and meaningful.' The one person who's surprsing her with gold is her husband Nihal. 'He's firmly in the gold camp. He's been buying me gold for 20 years (since the time he has been her boyfriend). That's his thing. Birthdays, anniversaries—any occasion, and it's always gold. He sees it as a smart investment and, honestly, he's not wrong.' One of the most special pieces she owns is a polki navratan bajubandh—an armlet that was gifted to her by her parents at her wedding. 'It has a large polki in the centre surrounded by nine precious stones. It's striking, traditional, and one of my most treasured pieces—not just because of how it looks, but because of the emotion and memory attached to it,' she said. ‘Your country is going around with a begging bowl': Khushbu Sundar launches fiery tweet on IMF aid for Pakistan

After Gul Panag, Khushbu Sundar has also defended India while reacting to a tweet about International Monetary Fund's $1 billion loan for Pakistan. The actor came across a tweet from a Pakistani journalist, who claimed that India's has been 'humbled' by IMF's move. She unleashed some fiery words in response to it. Journalist Shahbaz Rana had tweeted, 'India humbled again as IMF approves $2.3b packages for Pakistan. In a diplomatic embarrassment for India, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund on Friday approved two packages worth $2.3 billion, including a new $1.3 billion programme.' Khushbu retorted, 'Seriously?? Do you live in la-la land? My nation stands tall, upholding its dignity, integrity and respect. Your country is going around holding a begging bowl and alms are given to you. India hasnt reached out for any financial help. We as a nation are self sufficient. We Indians are happy souls, who find happiness in sharing, giving and spreading peace and harmony. Unlike your country that takes pride in sheilding terrorists and spreading terrorism. So i say, go take a long walk. You can never match upto where India stands in development, economy, infrastructure,. India is at the top as a friend, uniting the world, standing up for the right causes, sharing happiness with the rest of the world.' Earlier, actor Gul Panag had also tweeted against the same. 'Sir, congratulations on another loan. With respect, we don't need that money. You do. FYI, We have not taken any financial assistance from the IMF since 1993. Repayments of all the loans taken from International Monetary Fund have been completed on 31 May, 2000.' The International Monetary Fund approved the immediate disbursement of about USD 1 billion to Pakistan under the ongoing Extended Fund Facility. Pointing out that rewarding continued sponsorship of cross-border terrorism sends a dangerous message to the global community, India abstained from voting at the crucial International Monetary Fund (IMF) held on Friday in Washington. An IMF statement soon after said its Executive Board concluded the initial review of Pakistan's economic reform programme under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) arrangement. Khushbu Sundar is an Indian actor, producer, and politician known for her work in South Indian cinema. She is also a prominent political figure, currently associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Khushbu Sundar is best known for Tamil blockbusters like Chinna Thambi, Mannan, and Michael Madana Kama Rajan.

Gul Panag Mocks Pakistan For Celebrating IMF Loan: ‘We Don't Need It, You Do'

Last Updated: Gul Panag took a sharp dig at a Pakistani journalist celebrating Pakistan's IMF loan approval, reminding him that India hasn't needed IMF assistance since 1993. Actor, entrepreneur, and political activist Gul Panag took to social media on Friday to deliver a sharp, sarcastic takedown in response to a Pakistani journalist who celebrated the latest International Monetary Fund (IMF) loan granted to Pakistan. With her trademark wit, Gul reminded the journalist—and the internet—exactly where India stands when it comes to IMF bailouts. The comment came after Pakistani journalist Shahbaz Rana posted on X (formerly Twitter), 'In a humiliating defeat for India, the IMF executive board has approved $1 billion second loan tranche. India unsuccessfully tried to block the approval by the IMF board." Gul quote-tweeted him with biting clarity, 'Sir, congratulations on another loan. With respect, we don't need that money. You do. FYI, we have not taken any financial assistance from the IMF since 1993. Repayments of all the loans taken from the International Monetary Fund were completed on 31 May, 2000." Sir, congratulations on another loan. With respect, we don't need that money. You We have not taken any financial assistance from the IMF since 1993. Repayments of all the loans taken from International Monetary Fund have been completed on 31 May, 2000… — Gul Panag (@GulPanag) May 10, 2025 Her tweet quickly went viral, striking a chord with many who criticized the celebration of yet another loan disbursement. According to the IMF, the disbursement—part of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF)—was approved after a successful review of Pakistan's economic reform program, unlocking approximately $1 billion in aid. India, however, strongly opposed the move, citing Pakistan's continued involvement in cross-border terrorism. New Delhi warned global institutions of the reputational risks involved in supporting regimes that destabilize the region. The IMF's official statement read, 'IMF Board approved the first review of Pakistan's economic reform program under the EFF, enabling a disbursement of ~$1 billion, reflecting strong program implementation which has contributed to continuing economic recovery." The exchange comes at a time of heightened tension between the two nations. India recently launched Operation Sindoor, a precision strike mission targeting nine terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation was a direct response to the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives in April. In retaliation, the Pakistan Armed Forces launched multiple drone and ceasefire violation attacks across the Western border and the Line of Control (LoC) during the night of May 8 and 9. The Indian Army successfully intercepted the drone strikes and responded firmly to the CFVs. 'The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the nation," said an official statement. Gul Panag, who first rose to fame as Miss India and later as a breakout star in films like Dor and Manorama Six Feet Under, is known for her candid social media presence and strong political views. A licensed pilot, fitness icon, and a member of the Aam Aadmi Party, she's never shied away from calling it like it is. She was last seen in the most recent season of Prime Video's acclaimed series Paatal Lok, and once again, she's proving that her voice carries weight both on and off screen. First Published:

Pakistani anchors' debate on India Pakistan conflict goes viral: 'Sukoon ke liye jung nahi…'

The suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) may have been an obvious blow to sports fans, but the announcement could trigger a reaction from Pakistan no one could have anticipated — and it's nothing short of hilarious. A video gaining massive traction on social media shows a panel discussion on the ongoing India-Pakistan tensions and their consequences. Shared on microblogging site X, the video opens with anchors debating the developments unfolding amid the war-like scenario between the two nations. The discussion eventually shifts to cricket. One of the panellist can be heard suggesting the relocation of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to Dubai. A match between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings was reportedly rescheduled after the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium sustained damage - the cause of which remains unclear. 'Did the IPL go to Dubai?' the furious anchor demanded. 'Is your PSL being affected? Who stopped your cricket? India.' 'For how long will you suppress the sentiments of Pakistanis? Our PSL has been struck by their drone,' she claimed. At one point, as the anchor passionately declared that she wouldn't be at peace until the IPL was moved out of India, a panellist chimed in with a light-hearted quip: 'We can't go into war for your peace. This is about Pakistan's peace and harmony,' he said, leaving others in stitches. One user wrote, 'These guys have a lot of humour.' Another commented, 'What an unserious country!' The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has since announced the relocation of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season, citing unforeseen circumstances. The decision follows a surge in cross-border drone strikes and artillery exchanges, which have raised significant safety concerns for both players and spectators. Meanwhile, the IPL is contending with its own issues, as the recent match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was abandoned.
