Mostly sunny Tuesday, new tropical activity in the Atlantic
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Mostly sunny Tuesday afternoon with highs in the upper 80s. Rain chances will be very, very spotty throughout the area around 2 p.m. The typical summer-like pattern continues for us as this week progresses. Slightly higher rain potentials remain for each day the rest of this week as humidity levels increase a bit. It continues to be hard to pin point exactly the time and place of rain in the afternoon. These showers are mainly driven by the heat of the day. Activity in the Atlantic continues to capture the attention of many. This brings no impact to us locally, but the east coast could see this low pressure develop some tropical characteristics come the end of this week. ‘Jaywalking' alligator issued summons for crossing the road in Houma
HOUMA, La. (WGNO) — Houma police wrangled an unusual suspect over the weekend. Houma Police Department officers found a baby alligator walking in the street. Footage from police shows Officer Donald Aubrey holding the little gator's mouth shut and asking for tape to wrap it closed.
