Toddler fatally shot at south Fort Worth apartment complex, officials say
A toddler was killed in a possibly accidental shooting Friday night in south Fort Worth, police said. Officers were dispatched to the Stallion Ridge apartment complex in the 9100 block of Metcalf Lane shortly after 10 p.m. Friday, April 11. They found the child with a gunshot wound, according to police. The victim has been identified as 2-year-old Ta'Kirus Davon Jones, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office website. He died shortly before 11 p.m. in the emergency room at Cook Children's Medical Center. Police said they are investigating the details surrounding the shooting, which was initially reported to them as accidental. No arrests have been announced in the case. Gun Violence Unit detectives were notified to investigate. Early-morning shooting injures 1 in northwest Fort Worth, police say
Fort Worth police are investigating a shooting that injured one person early Saturday, officials said. Officers responded to the 5700 block of Azle Avenue around 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, April 5. They found someone with a gunshot wound, police said. The suspect is still at large, police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
