Gangster carrying Rs 1 lakh bounty, wanted in 75 cases, killed in encounter

, a wanted criminal carrying Rs 1 lakh bounty, was killed in an encounter with the
UP STF
in Barabanki's Ramnagar area on Wednesday.
Pasi, a resident of Rajpur village of Gonda, was involved in more than 75 criminal cases, including murder, dacoity, loot, and armed robbery.
Additional DG, law and order, Amitabh Yash, said acting on a tip-off, a team led by inspector Arun Kumar, along with inspector Raghvendra Singh, S-I Atul Chaturvedi, head constables Ram Niwas Shukla and Rajiv Kumar, launched a search operation in the forest area near Lohati JE, Lahdara turn.
"Upon being surrounded, Pasi opened fire at the police team. In the retaliatory exchange, he sustained serious gunshot wounds.
He was initially taken to Ramnagar and later referred to the district hospital, where he was declared dead during treatment," said Yash.
The ADG added that from the encounter site, police recovered a cache of illegal weapons and ammunition, including a .32 bore illegal pistol, a rifle, a .315 bore firearm, a 12 bore country-made gun, and a large quantity of live cartridges. Police said that Pasi's recent involvement surfaced in a
dacoity and murder case
reported on the night of April 24–25 in Biksir village of Gonda. During the home invasion, Pasi and his gang allegedly shot and killed a young man during the robbery attempt.
According to Dr Vinayak, the attending physician at the hospital, Pasi was hit by three bullets — in the head, left chest, and right thigh. The head injury proved fatal.
