Woman dies in crash tragedy as driver taken to hospital

More info A woman has died after a crash yesterday afternoon (Tuesday). The driver was also taken to hospital, following the one vehicle collision on the A495, near Whitchurch. Police are appealing for witnesses. A North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit statement said: "An investigation is underway following a fatal road traffic collision near Whitchurch yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, May 13th). "Shortly after 4:30pm police responded to a report of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle – a blue-coloured Toyota Rav4 on the A495. "Police, Ambulance and the Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene, but sadly, despite the best efforts of all involved, the female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver was taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital with minor injuries." He added: 'Our thoughts remain with the woman's family at this incredibly difficult time. "The investigation to establish the cause of the collision is underway and we are urging anybody who may have been travelling in the vicinity and who may have dash cam footage to contact us as soon as possible.'
