Egypt Reaffirms Support for All Initiatives to End the Russia-Ukraine War

H-Tayea Egypt has closely followed the recent consultations held in Saudi Arabia aimed at reaching an understanding to end the Russia-Ukraine war. For decades, Egypt has consistently emphasized the need to resolve conflicts through peaceful means, in accordance with the United Nations Charter and international law. These principles serve as the foundation of the international system and the fundamental guidelines governing global relations. Egypt firmly believes that addressing conflicts at their roots through peaceful settlement is the only path to restoring security, stability, and peace. In line with this commitment, Egypt has actively participated in various peace initiatives, including Arab, African, and "Friends of Peace" initiatives. Egypt expresses its support for all efforts and initiatives aimed at ending the crisis, underscoring the importance of establishing political solutions as the primary basis for resolving international conflicts. This stance has been reflected in Egypt's involvement in multiple initiatives seeking to de-escalate the crisis, as well as in President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's call in November 2022 for a peaceful resolution, given the humanitarian, economic, and security consequences of the conflict. Current global efforts, including the U.S. administration's approach to ending wars and conflicts worldwide—particularly in the Middle East—offer renewed hope for resolving ongoing military confrontations. These efforts pave the way for fair political settlements that enjoy international consensus and consider the interests of all parties involved, including those related to the Palestinian cause and the broader Middle East conflict.

Cairo Denounces Israeli Misinformation, Reaffirms Support For Palestine

H-Tayea Egypt has strongly condemned recent statements made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with an American media outlet. The Egyptian government described his remarks as deliberate misinformation that disregards Egypt's extensive humanitarian efforts in Gaza since the start of Israel's military offensive. In an official statement, Egypt's Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the country has played a crucial role in facilitating the entry of emergency humanitarian aid into Gaza, including more than 5,000 trucks of supplies since the ceasefire. Egypt has also enabled the safe passage of wounded Palestinians, medical evacuees, and dual nationals. The statement accused Israel of attempting to deflect attention from its violations against Palestinian civilians and the destruction of essential infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, power stations, and water facilities. Egypt also denounced Israel's use of blockade and starvation as a weapon against Gaza's population. Cairo firmly rejected any statements suggesting the forced displacement of Palestinians to Egypt, Jordan, or Saudi Arabia. The Egyptian government reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people, who continue to resist under dire conditions to defend their legitimate cause. Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to long-standing Arab and international principles, which uphold the Palestinian right to establish an independent state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
