Shooting in Hopewell Saturday night sends man to hospital with life-threatening injuries
HOPEWELL − Police are investigating a late-night shooting Saturday that has left one man fighting for his life. It happened shortly before 11 p.m., according to an email from Hopewell Police. Officers were called to HCA TriCities Hospital where the victim was first brought. He later was airlifted to HCA Chippenham Medical Center with a life-threatening gunshot wound. The scene of the shooting is believed to be the intersection of Winston Churchill Drive and East Randolph Road near Hopewell's industrial complexes. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing. On Wednesday night, a man was shot to death in the 1000 block of Sunnyside Avenue. A suspect was immediately arrested. Hopewell Police search for suspect in shooting death late Wednesday afternoon
HOPEWELL − A death investigation is under way after a man was shot and killed late Wednesday afternoon in eastern Hopewell. The victim was identified as Tion Kiandre Studivant, 30, of Hopewell. Police said he had been shot several times around 5:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of Sunnyside Avenue near Winston Churchill Drive. Studivant was rushed to HCA TriCities Hospital in Hopewell where he was pronounced dead. No motive or suspect information has been released. Anyone who may know details about the shooting or the suspect's whereabouts is asked to contact Lead Detective William Martin of the Hopewell Criminal Investigations Unit at (804) 541-2284.
