Volunteers wanted for Speak2us mental health helpline initiative
MS Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation has called for volunteers for its Speak2us helpline initiative which was a dedicated mental health helpline. According to a press release, Speak2us mental health helpline Project Director S. Selvamani said that the trust was founded in 1992 by Senior Consultant Psychiatrist C. Ramasubramanian. As part of its mental health initiatives, the trust in a joint initiative with HCL Foundation established Speak2us to support people in distress and provide safe and supportive psychological first-aid services for people who were in distress. The helpline fully managed by dedicated and trained volunteers was in the process of identifying suitable dedicated volunteers to enhance the quality of the services. Interested persons could apply. The minimum qualification was a Bachelor's Degree. Those who are fluent in Tamil and have strong empathy skills for handling the phone calls can apply. HCLFoundation scales HCLTech Grant initiative to accelerate water and biodiversity stewardship in rural India
HCLFoundation, which drives the corporate social responsibility agenda of global technology company HCLTech in India, announced a 45% increase in the annual outlay to ₹24 crore for its flagship HCLTech Grant initiative that supports innovative rural development projects by Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) in India. Starting FY26, the HCLTech Grant will be open to applications for promising projects under the new Water category. The Environment category has been replaced with Biodiversity. The Education and Healthcare categories will continue as before. Each winning NGO in these categories will receive ₹5 crore for four-year projects, while eight runner-up NGOs will get ₹50 lakh for two-year projects. The total grant for the FY26 edition will be ₹24 crore vs ₹16.5 crores in FY25. The Water category aims to highlight the critical importance of water in sustainable development. HCLFoundation aims to drive impactful community-based solutions to address water scarcity and improve water management in rural areas. The Biodiversity category aims at focused interventions that bring about ecological biodiversity impact that can be seen and measured. The new initiative will support projects that tackle various aspects of water management, including conservation, efficient usage and sustainable practices. NGOs focusing on water-related issues are encouraged to apply for funding and support. "Water is a precious resource. Its responsible management is crucial for reducing water stress in India. Through this initiative, we seek to partner with NGOs on innovative projects on water conservation. Also, there is a need to focus on Biodiversity enhancement across the country. Therefore, we have introduced two distinct categories under HCLTech Grant, Water and Biodiversity, while we continue focusing on Education and Healthcare. The increase in total financial outlay further strengthens our commitment towards nation building," said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, SVP, Global CSR, HCLTech and Director, HCLFoundation. To date, the HCLFoundation has awarded ₹152.8 crore (~$18.4 million) through the HCLTech Grant initiative to scale high-impact projects. Through the HCLTech Grant, it has supported 59 projects across 142 districts in 22 States and two Union Territories. With these new categories, HCLFoundation has announced the 11th Edition of HCLTech Grant, after 10 consecutive successful editions over 10 years. This year's edition includes increased grant funding, more commitment for runners-up NGOs and a higher focus on conservation efforts. The applications portal is already live. Help desks are active, and soon, the HCLTech India Grant team will be conducting symposiums in various regions of the country. HCLTech is deeply committed to water stewardship through various innovative initiatives aimed at promoting sustainable water management and conservation. Platforms like AquaSphere provide a comprehensive solution that helps organizations monitor, measure and optimize water usage using real-time data, enhancing water sustainability practices. HCLTech has been recognized for its efforts in water stewardship, winning the National Water Award 2022 for its water conservation and management initiatives in India. Through the HCLFoundation, the company has harvested 57.9 billion liters of water and rejuvenated over 200 water structures. Their projects include rainwater harvesting, river rejuvenation and biodiversity enhancement along the Ganga's catchment area. These initiatives align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) and SDG 15 (life on land).

HCLFoundation to give grants of Rs 5 crore each to 3 winning NGOs in environment, health, education spaces
HCLFoundation, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of IT services firm HCLTech, said it will award grants of Rs 5 crore ($2 million) each to three non-governmental organisations (NGOs) engaged in the fields of environment, health, and education. Six runner up NGOs will each be given Rs 25 lakh ($29,000) its inception in 2011, it has awarded Rs 152.8 crore (around $18.4 million) through its grant initiative to help scale 'high-impact projects'. This year, winning NGOs in different categories will receive a total Rs 16.5 crore (approximately $2 million) for transformative projects, including biodiversity conservation in the Sundarbans, eradication of childhood blindness and inclusive education through tactile resources, it said. In its tenth edition, the foundation received over 13,925 registrations from Indian NGOs participating in the environment, health and education categories. HCLFoundation announces winners of 2025 HCLTech Grant
HCLFoundation, which drives the corporate social responsibility agenda of global technology company HCLTech in India, today announced the winners of the 2025 edition of the HCLTech Grant. HCLTech Grant supports Indian non-government organizations (NGOs) driving transformative change across education, healthcare and the environment. This year, the HCLTech Grant received over 13,925 registrations from NGOs across India. Three winning NGOs in each category are awarded a grant of ₹5 crore (~$580,700) for their impactful projects and six runner-up NGOs in each category are awarded ₹25 lakh (~$29,000). To date, the HCLFoundation has awarded ₹152.8 crore (~$18.4 million) through the HCLTech Grant initiative to scale high-impact projects. In its 10th edition, HCLTech Grant has supported 59 projects across 142 districts in 22 States and two Union Territories. The winning NGOs of the 10th edition of the HCLTech Grant are: Environment: Lokamata Rani Rashmoni Mission for their project "Conservation of biodiversity for life and livelihood" that covers 40 villages of South and North 24 Parganas districts in West Bengal, promoting sustainable agriculture, supporting local livelihoods and empowering women. Health: Gurupriya Vision Research Foundation for their project "Vision on Wheels" that focuses on eradicating childhood blindness due to Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) across over 10,000 villages in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Education: Raised Lines Foundation for their "Touch Learn and Shine" project that focuses on enabling education inclusion through tactile resources in over 38,400 villages across the country. The HCLTech Grant-supported projects have significantly advanced sustainable development by diverting 31,306 tons of waste from landfills, facilitating 23,703 institutional deliveries and benefiting 39,286 individuals through the Integrated Child Development Scheme. The initiative has rejuvenated 245 water bodies and treated close to 128,102 hectares of land through indirect approaches. It has also reduced carbon emissions by 67,095 tons (CO₂ equivalent), sustainably managed or recycled 2,722 tons of waste and trained 74,183 women farmers in regenerative agriculture. Additionally, 177,080 saplings have been planted under various grant-funded programs.
