Over $703K will go towards home healthcare for Black families in Rochester
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Over $703,000 will go towards expanding home healthcare education and outreach efforts in Monroe County.
According to county leaders, this investment is specifically focusing on the county's African-American communities. HCR Health Care will lead efforts to educate older adults and families about at-home healthcare services.
County leaders said this initiative is meant to improve access to care, promote health equity, and reduce disparities affecting African-American residents.
Informational sessions will be held at seven churches in the Rochester area on Mother's Day. These include the following:
New Life Fellowship on Wellington Avenue
Mt. Olivet Baptist Church on Adams Street
First Church of God on Clarissa Street
Prayer House Church of God by Faith on Cumberland Street
In Christ New Hope Ministry on Pinnacle Road
Helping Hands Missionary Baptist Church on Joseph Avenue
New Bethel CME Church on Scio Street
