Long-term traffic shift to begin on I-564 east off-ramp to Little Creek Rd.
NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Starting on Wednesday, motorists can expect a long-term traffic shift on the I-564 east off-ramp to Little Creek Road.
Ground broken for historic $3.8 billion HRBT expansion project
According to a release, traffic will temporarily shift to the left to allow for a barrier to be added along the right shoulder for a right-turn only lane. This is a part of the Hampton Roads Express Lanes (HREL) project's Norfolk segment.
Construction begins on HREL Newport News segment
In addition to the shift, westbound East Admiral Taussig Boulevard will be reduced to one lane so crews can work on stormwater facilities between the I-564 off-ramp to Little Creek Road and East Admiral Taussig Boulevard.
The traffic shifts are expected to be in place through the summer of 2025.
