Alley Cat Allies Reaches 5000 Cat Milestone in Atlantic County, NJ Trap-Neuter-Return and No-Cost Cat Food Collaboration
ATLANTIC COUNTY, N.J., May 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Alley Cat Allies reached a milestone of 5000 cats helped in its latest Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) collaboration with the Humane Society of Atlantic County (HSAC). To continue the lifesaving momentum, Alley Cat Allies has issued a new grant to help 1000 more cats and kittens in the next months. The grant is focused on Atlantic County's community cats, or unowned cats who live outdoors. Alley Cat Allies, the leader of the global movement to protect cats and kittens, will help fund spay and neuter and vaccination as part of TNR and provide further support for the county's first-of-its-kind community cat food bank, which serves more than 800 cats every day. "Alley Cat Allies has worked for decades in Atlantic County to protect cats, but this latest collaboration took our impact to the next level. We are proud to have provided critical, life-changing care and resources to more than 5000 cats in the area in the past three years. And we're going to help thousands more," said Charlene Pedrolie, president and chief operating officer of Alley Cat Allies. Recently, Alley Cat Allies and HSAC celebrated the surgery of cat number 5000 through the previous phase of its grant. The cat, Willy, was neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped—and represents thousands of cats who have received similar care to the benefit of both the cats and the Atlantic County community. TNR is the only humane and effective approach to community cats. During the process, cats are humanely trapped, brought to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped (the universal sign that a cat has been sterilized through a TNR program), and then returned to their original outdoor homes. In Atlantic County and everywhere, TNR improves cats' lives, keeps unadoptable community cats out of shelters, and reduces calls to animal control—all of which saves taxpayer dollars. In the newest grant, alongside TNR, cats will receive any other veterinary care they may need, ranging from treatment for fleas and upper respiratory infections to major surgery. Convenia® injections will also be offered to treat common feline infections. Alley Cat Allies is committed to improving access to even the most complex care for cats and kittens. Now, he's been appointed by to serve on the Homeland Security Advisory Council. It's wild, but it's just another example of the undeniable fact that all roads lead back to Bravo. Bo isn't just a private investigator, he's also a retired NYPD officer and podcaster who's been floating around the political sphere for years. For example, he ran for New York City mayor in 2017 and got around 1% of the vote. In Season 13 of RHONJ, Bo became a central part of the drama when Luis threatened to send him after his wife's enemies. A few months later, that dynamic duo got sued for allegedly hacking computers to get information about Luis' ex. She accused them of 'harassment and abuse.' With that impressive resume, our former reality star president decided that Bo needed to bring his talents to the federal government. Trump Gives Fox News Host Stunning Amount of Power in Cabinet
Donald Trump is once again sourcing administration officials from the talent pool at Fox News. The president announced Thursday night that he had formed a 'revamped' Homeland Security Advisory Council, including the likes of Fox News host Mark Levin and former Fox News contributor Bo Dietl. The council would also include South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and Florida state Senator Joseph Gruters, who serves on the Republican National Committee and is a close ally of Trump's. 'Under Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem's leadership, HSAC will work hard on developing new Policies and Strategies that will help us secure our Border, deport Illegal Criminal Thugs, stop the flow of Fentanyl and other illegal drugs that are killing our Citizens, and MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN,' Trump wrote on Truth Social. It's not exactly clear how the 'revamped' group will differ from past iterations of HSAC, which has been a fixture of administrations since George W. Bush announced its creation in 2002, to generate counterterrorism strategy and oversee a reorganized department. Joe Biden's iteration of the same group had a whopping 33 members, from the private sector and law enforcement groups—but none from TV. The DHS website, which was last updated in January, lists no current members of the group. Trump has been known to tune into Levin's show Life, Liberty & Levin, where the ultra-conservative attacks the president's enemies and regularly makes recommendations for his administration. Now, he will make those same recommendations in an official capacity. In November, Levin suggested to border czar Tom Homan that the Trump administration should withhold federal funding from states that failed to comply with its draconian immigration policies. Levin was once described by Rolling Stone as a 'bomb-throwing Trump sycophant.' Bo Dietl is a former detective with the New York Police Department and actor, who served as a contributor on Fox News until 2016, when he it was revealed that he'd been hired to dig up dirt on Andrea Mackris and Gretchen Carlson in an attempt to discredit their sexual harassment allegations against former CEO Roger Ailes.

Donald Trump once again turned to his favorite cable channel to staff up his administration, this time naming Fox News host Mark Levin to his 'revamped' Homeland Security Advisory Council. Besides Levin, who has shifted from 'Never Trumper' to devoted MAGA acolyte in recent years, the president also added former Fox News contributor Bo Dietl, the bombastic former New York cop who was let go by the conservative network in 2016 after it was revealed Roger Ailes hired him to discredit the disgraced former Fox News chief's accusers. 'I am proud to announce the formation of my revamped Homeland Security Advisory Council (HSAC), which is comprised of Top Experts in their field, who are highly respected by their peers. It is a big honor to serve on HSAC, and I know the new Members, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster, Mark Levin, Bo Dietl, and Joseph Gruters, will do an incredible job,' Trump declared Thursday night on Truth Social. 'Congratulations to all!' Levin, who also hosts a nationally syndicated radio show that pulls in millions of listeners, quickly reacted to the appointment on social media. 'What an honor! Thank you, Mr. President!' Levin tweeted. Prior to becoming a right-wing media personality, Levin served in the Reagan administration. Beginning at a former agency that oversaw AmeriCorps VISTA, Levin advanced up the ladder, working as the deputy solicitor of the Department of the Interior and the deputy assistant secretary of the Department of Education before eventually settling into the role of chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese. He would then practice law at a private firm before eventually transitioning into conservative punditry, ultimately securing his first radio slot in 2002. The Mark Levin Show became nationally syndicated in 2006, and Levin was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018. He joined Fox News in 2017, and his weekend talk show Life, Liberty & Levin debuted the following year. The HSAC appointment of Levin, who has offered up some occasional criticism of the administration's foreign policy stances, comes as more than 20 other former Fox News personalities have scored jobs in the second Trump administration. Even more so than in his first term, which featured a revolving door between the White House and the right-wing network, Trump has leaned heavily on the conservative cable giant to not only get his message out but also fill prominent positions in his cabinet. One-time Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Pete Hegseth, for instance, was installed as the Secretary of Defense, while Trump made Sean Duffy – a former Fox Business host who got his start on MTV's The Real World – his transportation secretary. The administration's director of national intelligence is Tulsi Gabbard, the former Democratic congresswoman who completed her MAGA transformation as a Fox News commentator. While the network didn't immediately respond to a request for comment, it would not appear that Fox News would require him to step aside from his show while serving in an advisory capacity to the president. Earlier this year, Trump named MAGA-boosting Fox hosts Maria Bartiromo and Laura to the board of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Both women continued to host their respective programs.
