ABU DHABI (ALETIHAD) Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded winners of the Hafeet Sports Challenge in Al Ain Region, a major sporting event that combined various games, and featured individual players and teams participating in more than 20 tournaments. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised organisers and the performance levels of players and teams and reaffirmed the leadership's keenness to promote sport among community members, and to developing the next generation of champions in the UAE.

Hafeet Sports Challenge set for jiu-jitsu competitions in Al-Ain
ABU DHABI: The jiu-jitsu competitions of the Hafeet Sports Challenge will held on Friday at the Al-Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club, and will feature athletes in the under 14, 16 and 18 categories from various clubs and academies. The Hafeet Sports Challenge is aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles, and includes a variety of sports disciplines and activities for athletes of all levels. Abdullah Al-Zaabi, head of the events and activities section at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said the organization is committed to organizing high-level championships 'to ensure the continuous development of athletes.' He added: 'Youth and teen championships receive significant attention from the federation, as these categories represent the foundation for the future and the sustainable success of jiu-jitsu in the UAE.' The championship will be held over a single day under the open belt system. The event will help athletes prepare for upcoming competitions while allowing clubs and coaches to identify new talent.

Hafeet Sports Challenge's cycling race attracts 300 athletes
9 Mar 2025 19:32 AL AIN (WAM) 'Hafeet Sports Challenge' added a new impact over the sports scenery, in an exceptional event that witnessed the participation of nearly 2000 athletes who are competing in four different competitions, which covered more than 5000 km of 'Dar Al Zain.'The event took place in thrilling atmospheres that spanned over football, basketball, and volleyball stadiums. Those competitions coincided with the onset of the cycling race, which witnessed the participation of 300 contenders from inside and outside the country, while the participants were divided into 13 competing categories, adding more thrill and rivalry to the race started from 'Saied' area en route to Al Ain international Airport, with the participation of nine major categories. Those categories included different age categories and various levels of professionalism. The race spanned over 80 km, while a second race was dedicated to a distance of 27 km for those participants who are under 15 years of member of Abu Dhabi Cycling Club, Ahmed Al Mazouqi, emphasised that 'Hafeet Sports Challenge' had surpassed all expectations thanks to the ambitious vision and substantial support from H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Marzouqi said, 'The excellent organisation and vast turnout we have witnessed, especially in the cycling race, are considered a source of pride and appreciation. This success is not limited to one sport alone, but it included all games, in a way that gathered under its umbrella all categories of men and women, children and people of determination, emphasising over Al Ain's position as a global sports destination.'In a related context, volleyball competitions witnessed three big matches in three major areas: Al Waqn, Al Amera, and Downtown, where 12 teams were competing to claim the qualifying ticket to the Super League, which will start on Tuesday at the city's Downtown. The final results led to the qualification of Al Merial and Al Qwie in addition to Al Amera, who was the first team to champions are preparing to go through the challenge, which will take place within Al Qatarah's gym, while the running race competitions will take place from Al Mabzarah Al Khadra'a, among thrilling and competitive were divided into six competing categories, which include the distances of 1 km, 3 km, and 5 km, for the two categories of citizens and open for both women and men. Abdoul Karim Traoré and Mohammed Awadallah, who play for Al Ain first football team, were keen to attend the institutions' championship at Al Qatarah's Tahnon Bin Mohammed stadium, where they expressed their admiration over the sporting atmosphere that the city is witnessing.

Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in Al Ain Region, Al Ain City Municipality, in collaboration with Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club, has announced the launch of the first edition of the "Hafeet Challenge" Ramadan Sports Championships. This initiative aims to promote community sports and instill a culture of challenge and constructive announcement was made during a press conference held this evening at Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium. The event was attended by Hamad Nakhiraat Al Ameri, Managing Director of Al Ain Sports and Cultural Club; Rashed Musabbah Al Maniei, Director General of Al Ain City Municipality; Salem Rashed Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee; along with department managers, club and municipality employees, organising committee members, team representatives, and media Rashed Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, affirmed that the "Hafeet Sports Challenge" is a major sporting event that brings together various residential neighbourhoods in the city, along with its governmental and private institutions. He explained that the competitions will commence on the 5th of Ramadan and will continue until the 18th, creating an exciting atmosphere that promotes further noted that the highest organisational standards have been adopted to ensure a comprehensive sporting experience that meets the expectations of participants and spectators, under the supervision of Al Ain City Municipality and Al Ain Sports added that 36 teams will compete for the football title, including 24 teams from residential neighborhoods and 12 teams representing government and private institutions. Additionally, the championship will feature nine other sports, including volleyball, basketball, jiu-jitsu, running, cycling, shooting, padel, PlayStation gaming, and seven specialised competitions for people of determination. He revealed that the organising committee has allocated financial rewards exceeding AED 2.5 million. These include prizes for the top winners across various sports, as well as recognition awards for outstanding individual and team performances.
