Virginia Beach man killed in hit-and-run on Bonney Road
VIRGINIA BEACH — Police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and killed early Friday morning.
Around 1:40 a.m., dispatchers received a call reporting a crash involving a pedestrian in the 3700 block of Bonney Road, according to a release. Several businesses, including Hall Nissan of Virginia Beach and an auto body shop, are located on the road near Virginia Beach Boulevard.
Officers, the Virginia Beach Fire Department and Virginia Beach EMS responded and found 63-year-old Thomas Moore, of Virginia Beach, dead in the road, according to police.
Police believe Moore was hit and killed by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to a release.
Virginia Beach Police Department's Traffic Safety Unit is investigating.
