Milton man accused of sex assault arrested for allegedly violating release condition
Ehsan Ansari is seen in this police photo. A 59-year-old man accused of sexual assault has been rearrested after allegedly violating his release condition not to practice healing services. In a news release on Thursday, Halton Regional Police said Ehsan Ansari was taken into custody the previous day and charged with two counts of failing to comply with the release order. Ansari, who operated a Holistic centre in Milton, has been prohibited from continuing his services while he awaits the outcome of his case. 'Investigators determined Ansari has continued to operate a holistic centre in Milton under a new business name, 'Sunnah Hijama,'' police allege. Ansari was first arrested last year after a woman who visited his centre, 'Holistic Hijama,' was sexually assaulted during her visit. He was charged with two counts of sexual assault. The charges have not been tested in court. Investigators believe there may be additional victims and anyone who received treatment by Ansari at both holistic centres are being urged to contact them at 905-825-4777 ext. 8970.

South Simcoe police ‘vigilant' after Colorado attack
The South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) is remaining 'vigilant' after Sunday's attack in Boulder, Colo. that is being investigated by the FBI as an act of terror. 'Our thoughts are with those impacted by this senseless act of violence,' said a SSPS media officer in part of their statement to CTV News. 'SSPS members remain vigilant in monitoring our communities to ensure the safety and security of everyone. Hate has no place in our communities, and the SSPS does not tolerate or condone acts of hate against a person or property, for any reason.' Eight people were injured in Sunday's incident, where law officials say a man hurled an incendiary device into a group that was raising attention for Israeli hostages. On Monday, Toronto police stated via social media that they will be maintaining a heightened presence at schools, community centres and places of worship across the city. Police in York Region and Halton Region have made similar statements. 'Collaborating with various religious and community leaders, SSPS members work year-round to support an inclusive community that respects and values the diverse cultures and religions that represent our communities,' continued the SSPS media officer in their statement to CTV News. 'Throughout the year, SSPS have increased their visible presence at key places of worship and community centres, reinforcing our commitment to safety and inclusivity. SSPS actively engage with our partner agencies and continuously monitor for any potential threats within our communities. We are committed to ensuring that every community member feels safe, secure, and supported.' When CTV News reached out to the Barrie Police Service, a media officer responded by saying that they are 'aware' of the Boulder, Colo. incident. Tuesday marks the second day of the Jewish 'Shavuot' holiday, which ends at nightfall. With files from CTV's Phil Tsekouras and the Associated Press.

2 suspects arrested, 4 more wanted in connection with robbery at mall in Burlington
Police in Halton Region have charged two suspects and are looking for four others after a Nike store in a mall in Burlington was robbed earlier this month. Halton Regional Police said a group of male suspects attended Mapleview Shopping Centre on Fairview Street on the evening of May 2, walked into the Nike store and allegedly stole clothing items. When they ran away, mall security chased the suspects and caught up with them in the parking lot, police said. During the confrontation, one suspect allegedly deployed a bear spray on a mall security employee, allowing the group to get into a vehicle and drive away. The employee was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, police said. Investigators later determined that the vehicle used was stolen out of Hamilton and identified two of the six suspects. In a news release on Wednesday, police said 19-year-old Tyson Larsh and a 17-year-old boy were arrested in Hamilton earlier this week. Both have been charged with robbery. Meanwhile, police do not have descriptions of the other four suspects. They are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-825-4777 ext. 2316 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
