Popular breakfast fast-food chain adds new items and deals

May is finally here, which means that summer is right around the corner and vacation destinations are open for the season. What's even more exciting is that this is also when restaurant and fast-food chains begin to drop their highly anticipated limited-time summer menus for the year. Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter Menus nationwide will be filled with various iced beverages, tropical sweet treats, and multiple deals, since these chains know most people will be out and about for the next few months. This is good for consumers, since it gives them more value for their money, but challenging for businesses because they have to compete with sometimes unsustainably low price comparisons. Image source: Corbis/Getty Images As breakfast lovers awoke this morning, Dunkin' quickly hit them with the first email of the month, revealing its 2025 summer menu. Dunkin' is already known for being among the most affordable coffee chains because, unlike its rivals, it has chosen not to offer $8 lattes. Instead, it keeps its products within a decent price range, and this time, the deals are better and more plentiful than ever. The breakfast fast-food chain will keep the $6 Meal Deal momentum going but is giving it a fresh twist by changing its offerings. Customers still get a medium hot or iced coffee and hash browns with this deal, but it now comes with a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwich. Dunkin' did a two-in-one this season by releasing a new Tropical Guava Dunkin' Refresher that costs only $3. This new drink allows customers to combine iced green tea, lemonade, or sparkling water with passion fruit, orange, and guava flavors. The company has also released the new Ham & Swiss Pretzel Sliders in partnership with King's Hawaiian and revamped its beloved Iced Lemon Loaf with a strawberry twist. Due to popular demand, Dunkin' has returned its fan favorite Chicken & Bacon Croissant Stuffer and the Sweet Black Pepper Bacon. Although Dunkin's $6 Meal Deal may seem like a total bargain, it faces stiff competition from its breakfast-restaurant rivals. IHOP (DIN) relaunched the $6 House Faves menu nationwide, featuring four of the chain's most popular breakfast combos, including the Breakfast Faves Combo, House Scramble, Ham & Cheese Omelette, and French Toast Breakfast. The dishes cost around $6 to $7 each, depending on the location, and are available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., as stated on its website. However, it added more dishes this time, including dinner items. For breakfast, Denny's now offers the Everyday Value Slam, Loaded Breakfast Sandwich, Super Slam, and three add-ons, including the Stack of Original Pancakes, Choconana Pancakes, and French Toast. For dinner, customers can order the Mama's Fried Chicken Salad, Chicken Tenders & Fries, Classic Burger with Fries, Grilled Cheese with a bowl of soup or side salad, and a New York Style Cheesecake add-on. The Pistachio Coffee features a sweet pistachio flavour swirl blended with Dunkin's Original Blend coffee, and is available hot or iced. The company also introduced new savoury item Ham & Swiss Pretzel Sliders, alongside the comeback of the Sweet Black Pepper Bacon and the Chicken & Bacon Croissant Stuffer. Ham & Swiss Pretzel Sliders feature Black Forest ham, Swiss cheese and honey mustard on King's Hawaiian Pretzel Slider Buns. The Sweet Black Pepper Bacon is known for its sweet and savoury seasoning and can be ordered in a breakfast sandwich, as a Wake-Up Wrap or as Snackin' Bacon. The Chicken & Bacon Croissant Stuffer is a croissant filled with chicken, bacon and Colby Jack cheese and topped with seasoning. Dunkin' is also keeping the Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso and Raspberry Watermelon Dunkin' refresher on the menu. Dunkin' spring menu launches, nondairy surcharge removed

Dunkin's spring menu arrives Wednesday, the same day the company stops charging its long-standing nondairy milk fee. The big picture: The Boston-based company's seasonal change comes a day after Starbucks released its spring menu with new and returning drinks. State of play: Dunkin' is the latest chain to remove the nondairy surcharge. Starbucks removed its fee in November and smaller chains have followed suit. Dairy alternatives will be "standard options for Dunkin' beverages at no additional cost to guests," a company spokesperson told Axios. "This will allow guests visiting any Dunkin' location to enjoy traditional dairy or alternative dairy options in any beverage without an additional charge," the spokesperson added. Dunkin' spring menu brings back Dunkalatte The spring menu includes ongoing limited items and returning ones. The only new item is the Ham & Swiss Pretzel Sliders that are made with pretzel-style King's Hawaiian-brand slider buns. Dunkin' first released the Dunkalatte, the brand's first-ever coffee milk latte, in August 2024 as part of its fall menu. It's available hot or iced. Other menu items include: Pistachio Coffee (hot or iced) Brown Sugar Shakin' Espresso Raspberry Watermelon Dunkin' Refresher Sweet Black Pepper Bacon lineup, which Dunkin' says is available as a Breakfast Sandwich, Wake Up Wrap and Snackin' Bacon. Chicken & Bacon Croissant Stuffer Kelly's taste test: Dunkin' gave Axios an early taste of the new menu ahead of the launch. The Iced Pistachio Coffee reminded me of pistachio ice cream but my favorite was the Iced Dunkalatte that is made with espresso and coffee milk. What's next: Dunkin' didn't unveil any seasonal doughnuts Wednesday but more menu items are rumored to arrive before Easter. Food blogger and influencer Markie Devo posted on Instagram that a Cotton Candy-flavored doughnut, Blueberry Sprinkled Munchkins and a Spring Munchkins Bucket are expected in early April.
