HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. — One Democrat vying to become New Jersey's next governor showed himself boxing with President Donald Trump in an AI-generated advertisement. Another got arrested while trying to visit an immigrant detention center that Trump had reopened.
And Rep. Mikie Sherrill, widely viewed as the slight favorite in a crowded June 10 primary, often warns that her Republican opponent is gearing up to 'DOGE New Jersey,' a reference to Elon Musk's cuts across the federal government. Waiting to hear Sherrill speak at a strip mall this month near Trenton, voters said they were looking for a 'fighter' and an 'oppositional voice.'
