Future Foresight Forum seeks to boost Oman's growth
Muscat – The 'Future Foresight Forum', a special event organised jointly by the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and the Ministry of Labour to give a fillip to the sultanate's growth, opened on Monday in Muscat.
The three-day event, held under the patronage of Hammoud bin Salim al Saadi, Second Deputy Chairman of OCCI and head of its South Batinah branch, has brought together specialists and experts from eight countries to help institutions anticipate economic and technological shifts by promoting strategic foresight, strengthening national skills and preparing the private sector to respond to emerging challenges.
It seeks to foster innovation, attract investment and build partnerships between government and business.
In the opening session, Abdullah al Saidi, CEO of Global Development Academy for Training, said the forum comes at a time of significant economic and geopolitical shifts, requiring organisations to adopt forward-looking strategies. 'We need to shift from reaction to anticipation, by adopting an institutional approach based on innovation and strategic analysis,' he said.
Dr Abdul Salam Yahya, Economic Expert at OCCI, highlighted the need for a long-term economic vision to maintain stability amid global uncertainty.
