HPD: Man critically injured in shooting on Libby Street

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A man is severely injured after a shooting on Libby Street in Hampton Wednesday afternoon, according to police. Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call for a shooting in the 200 block of Libby Street at approximately 12:20 p.m. When officers arrived, they located a man lying in the roadway suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital by members of the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue. A suspect has not been identified. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. Hampton Police investigating death of 73-year-old man

HAMPTON — The Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue responded Friday to a call about a person reported dead in a home off Azalea Drive, in a neighborhood close to Interstate 664. They determined that the suspicious nature of the death and injuries consistent with trauma warranted a police response. The Hampton Police Division is now investigating the death of the 73-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released. The death, which is currently classified as a homicide, was reported at approximately 5:45 p.m. No other details are available at this stage in the investigation, according to a release.
