Iran State TV Briefly Hacked by Israel with Uprising Message

Iran's state-run television network was briefly taken over by hackers recently, airing a bold message urging citizens to rise up and protest. The broadcast interruption happened during a live news segment and is believed to have been targeted through satellite feeds. The screen displayed a message that read: "Rise up! This is your moment. Go out into the streets. Take control of your future." Videos circulating online show the hacked message appearing on TV screens inside homes. One clip, which went viral on social media, showed women cutting their hair in what appeared to be an act of protest, a symbol often associated with demonstrations in Iran. Iran Blames Israel for State TV Hack The brief disruption on Iran's state-run television has been linked to Israel, according to Iranian media and officials. On its Telegram channel, the Hamshahri daily shared a video of the hacked broadcast along with a caption stating that 'hackers infiltrated state television and broadcast a call asking people to take to the streets.' Shortly after, Iran's state broadcaster warned viewers that the interruption was caused by 'cyberattacks carried out by the Zionist enemy,' claiming it had targeted the network's satellite transmission. Targeted via Satellite, Reports Say Reports suggest the hacking only affected satellite-based broadcasts of the Iranian state channel. This method allowed the message to bypass Iran's internal systems and appear directly on household screens receiving the channel via satellite. The Iranian government has not yet issued an official statement about the breach. The cyberattack came just days after a significant Israeli missile strike on the Tehran headquarters of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). The missile reportedly hit while anchor Sahar Emani was live on air. Hundreds of people have been reported killed, including top Iranian military officials. Iran's retaliatory attacks have also caused civilian casualties in Israel.

Hackers 'break into' Iranian TV after Supreme Leader threatens 'all out war'

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Pro-Israel hackers have infiltrated Iranian state TV, calling for an uprising against supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, it has been claimed. Footage circulating on Telegram shows a screen inside what appears to be a home, displaying chaos on the streets of Iran. Women in the video are seen removing the mandatory hijab and chopping off their hair using a pair of scissors. The footage was of scenes from the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' uprising that engulfed Iran after the killing of 22-year-old Kurdish-Iranian woman Mahsa Jina Amini in 2022 while in police custody. Another image of a broadcast shows the message, 'Rise up! This is your moment. Go out into the streets. Take control of your future.' Iran blamed Israel for hacking the TV station, warning viewers that this was 'due to cyberattacks carried out by the Zionist enemy that is disrupting the satellite transmission.' The Hamshahri newspaper shared the video of the brief disruption, saying that 'hackers infiltrated state television and broadcast a call asking people to take to the streets.' Jonathan Harounoff, Israel's spokesperson for the United Nations, posted the vide on X, saying: 'Happening now. Iranian state TV has been hacked, taking a break from its regular propaganda programming to broadcast iconic scenes from the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' uprising.' More Trending This was the latest cyberattack to have hit Iran, which is also suffering an extensive internet outage amid Israel's ongoing bombardments. Iran announced last week that it was placing temporary restrictions on the internet, with the communication ministry saying Wednesday that heavier limits were being imposed due to Israel's 'abuse of the communication network for military purposes'. Numerous sites and apps have remained at least partially inaccessible in the country. A skilled pro-Israel group known as 'Predatory Sparrow' also took credit for the theft of the equivalent of £67 million from Iran's largest cryptocurrency exchange on Wednesday. Iranian elite grows supportive of nuclear talks as economic fears spike

DUBAI — Iranian media coverage of nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran has been largely positive, reflecting a growing willingness among the Iranian elite to engage with the United States, with even conservative outlets spinning the negotiations as evidence of their country's influence on the world stage. 'The balance of power has shifted in favor of the Islamic Republic,' said a recent article in the hard-line newspaper Javan, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Another conservative daily, Hamshahri, said Iran had broadcast 'a message of authority' in recent talks with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff.
