The combat style of the same is similar to ancient Chinese martial arts on steroids. The first generation fighter from the clan, Yuichiro Hanma (grandfather of Baki), used the techniques based on the regions like Udonde which is a legendary move from the Ryukyu royal family. This earned him the name of Oni or Devil from all his enemies. Yujiro Hanma is the second-generation fighter from the clan who is also dubbed 'the strongest creature on Earth.' He was known in the country as the killer of his own wife. The anime shows him as the main antagonist, and he has superhuman strength. Once, he stopped an earthquake with a mere punch. And then comes Baki Hanma, who is the protagonist of the show. His only goal in the anime is to surpass his father in terms of strength. And he achieves the same by the end of the anime.
