Your New Swimwear Wardrobe Starts Here: Meet The Designers Showing At Sand Show Dubai
As the Middle East's premier swim and resortwear trade event returns this October, six designers offer an exclusive preview of the silhouettes, escapes, and sun-drenched inspirations shaping the season ahead
As the summer sun scorches higher and wardrobes start leaning into wanderlust, the inaugural Sand Show Dubai is set to become the definitive destination for your new swimwear wardrobe. Taking place from October 11-13 at The Agenda, Dubai Media City, the three-day trade event will gather over 70 international brands across swimwear, resortwear, accessories, and all
To give us a taste of what's to come, six designers from the Sand roster have shared their summer escape edit, offering an inspiring glimpse into their favourite pieces, destinations, and the design philosophies that guide them.
La Revêche
Born in Sardinia, Sara Melis channels Mediterranean romance into every stitch, with signature flower appliqués and ethereal textures that evoke sun-drenched escapes. 'This collection was inspired by the softness of a breeze on warm skin, by the scent of bougainvillea, and the sound of waves,' she says. Favourites? The Vesna swimsuit and Hilal one-piece – both equal parts effortless and unforgettable.
Oceanus
British designer Hannah Attalah is making a splash with hand-beaded, recycled swimwear that channels '80s glamour. 'Our muse is unapologetically confident and not afraid to be the main character,' she shares. Her top summer picks? The vibrant Arizona Swimsuit with sea creature embroidery, and the fully-sequined Pandora Dress – made to move from poolside to party in a mere moment.
Paramidonna
With buttery-soft stretch fabrics and body-sculpting cuts, Donika Ancheva is pioneering the new era of inclusive swimwear. 'Our pieces are designed for real women, real curves, and real movement,' she says. From bandeaus in golden hour hues to breezy coverups, this is elevated minimalism with maximum ease, complete with matching styles for your mini-me.
Nadia Dafri
With a love of ancient artisanry, Nadia Dafri creates modern heirlooms rich in texture and soul. 'Each piece is a passport – crafted to evoke a place, a scent, a memory,' she says. Her embroidered clutches and bucket bags are woven narratives of her summer in Kaş, Turkey – where the sea breeze, blue shutters, and scent of fresh bread spark poetic inspiration. Perfect for those who want their accessories to speak before they do.
Isabel Beachwear
Rooted in Italian bridalwear, Flavia Isabella Flaminio brings Old World elegance to beachwear. 'I wanted every piece to feel like a scene from a vintage Italian film,' she says. Her sheer kimonos and feminine cuts channel la dolce vita, whether you're lounging in Capri or brunching in Dubai.
HartiSWIM
Founded by fashion entrepreneur Tessa Hartmann CBE and artist Harti Hartmann, this label offers wearable art with eco-friendly credentials. 'Our pieces are printed with original art, created to make you feel bold, powerful, and fearless,' says Tessa. Bonus: they're made with recycled fabrics and packed with punchy graphics.
