Primetime 585 Shining Star: Hannah Carpenter
BROCKPORT, N.Y. (WROC) — Our Primetime 585 Shining Star Spotlight highlights a Brockport student who shows great leadership and influence on and off the field. Junior, Hannah Carpenter, is known as 'the kind of player every coach hopes for,' according to her Coach Nick Petitti. Carpenter has been a standout player on the varsity softball team since seventh grade. Having been captain for three years, she earned 1st Team All-County for Monroe for the past two seasons. In 2024, Carpenter held an impressive .465 batting average, leading the team with 23 RBIs, and recorded 10 extra-base hits, including 3 triples and 2 home runs. As the team's primary pitcher, she threw all but two innings, finishing with a team-high of 9 wins and 85 strikeouts. This season, Carpenter has already had 5 extra-base hits and 9 RBIs in Brockport's first five games. In a recent game in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, she delivered a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the plate, hitting three home runs—two of them in the first inning—and driving in seven runs overall. Carpenter is also a two-year Varsity basketball player and served as a captain last season. Outside of school, she has played travel softball with the UNY Revolution for the past four years, competing in high-level showcase tournaments across the Northeast. After graduation, she plans to attend college and continue her softball career. News 8 and Primetime 585 would like to congratulate Hannah on all of her accomplishments!
