Transy sweeps Berea as Pioneers women's team stays red hot
LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — The Transylvania women's basketball team had a slightly rocky start to the post-Juli Fulks era, getting off to a 6-5 start. But as soon as the calendar switched to 2025, the Lady Pioneers got on a roll.
New head coach Hannah Varel's team has reeled off a 9-game winning streak after Wednesday night's victory over Berea College, 71-53. Transy is now 15-5 overall and 12-1 in HCAC conference play.
The Transy men's team also got a victory over Berea, that one on the road down at the Seabury Center in a 81-72 win. That improved the Pioneers record to 12-9 and 10-4 in the league.
