Man allegedly threw Crown Royal bottle near 2 children while in vehicle in Fairmont

FAIRMONT, (WBOY) — A man was charged after he allegedly nearly caused a vehicle to crash in Fairmont and then tried to hide a Crown Royal bottle from police, endangering two children. On May 28, officers with the Fairmont Police Department were informed of an incident from an 'open line' communication to 911 which 'sounded like a rolling domestic,' according to a criminal complaint. Officers made contact with a vehicle near Price Cutter on Fairmont Avenue, and identified a male passenger as Hannibal Ryan, 28; they also noted two young children were in the back of the vehicle, officers said. 2 women charged after claims they smoked meth in Gilmer County with 2-year-old present In their investigation, officers determined that Ryan neglected the two children by 'grabbing the wheel of the vehicle' and attempting to put the vehicle out of gear while he was intoxicated and someone else was driving, according to the complaint. Deputies said that during that time, Ryan also grabbed the driver 'by [the] hair,' causing the vehicle to 'almost strike a bridge,' and 'threw a partially full glass bottle of Crown Royal past the child in an attempt to hide the bottle' when officers performed the traffic stop, deputies said.
