Bargain Hunt witnessed a historic moment when the red team, for the first time on the BBC show, did not select a third item to take to auction. One contestant was left "lost for words", confessing: "Because there are so many things here but it's just finding that item that meets the criteria!"
The voice-over clarified that as the team "ran out of time", only two items made it to the selling block, though this didn't result in a significant loss for them.
Outside the auction house, Charles Hanson faced the contestants with regret, admitting: "I like to play to the wire but it went badly, badly wrong.
"We failed on the challenge, we failed with our big spend. I'm sorry, team. It really happened."

During a star-studded edition featuring Happy Mondays' Bez and Rowetta Idah versus Pulp members Jarvis Cocker and Candida Doyle, a breach of conduct was called out, prompting the host to reveal a book brimming with rules.
The regulation highlighted stated: "Tis completely forbidden for friends or family members to bid on a team's item," reports the Express.
This came after it was revealed that Bez's girlfriend had placed a bid on an item, which he described as a "genuine error".
He said: "My girlfriend thought she was helping out."
But the show's resident expert was left stunned, exclaiming: "I'm speechless!" before promptly disqualifying him from the competition.
On the other hand, the band Pulp suffered a loss of £95 on their items.
