Owner of pet supply store raped 12-year-old volunteer multiple times, jury finds
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The owner of a pet supply store in Lincoln City was convicted of sexually abusing a 12-year-old volunteer multiple times in 2023, the Lincoln County District Attorney's Office announced Wednesday.
Daniel Stuebgen, 54, owner of Happy Trails Feed & Tack, was found guilty of several charges earlier this month, including three counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sodomy, four counts of first-degree sex abuse.
After a five-day trial, the jury determined that there were five separate instances of abuse of a preteen who volunteered at Happy Trails Feed & Tack.
'The Lincoln County District Attorney's Office would like to thank the Lincoln City Police Department and the Children's Advocacy Center for their excellent work and perseverance in helping this child receive justice,' said DA Jenna Wallace.
Stuebgen is scheduled to be sentenced on June 3.
