‘Waterlogging at some white-topped stretches on NH48'
Vasai: Waterlogging was reported Monday on the newly laid white-topped surface at some sections of Mumbai-Ahmedabad National Highway (NH48), said commuters. National Highways Authority of India sources alleged agencies failed to curb illegal land reclamation on NH48.
Salim, a commuter, said he saw waterlogging at Maljipada and ahead of Tungar Phata, Vasai. Harbans Singh Nanade said some service roads were in a bad shape. Suhas Chitnis, project director, NHAI, said, "We have already started working to tackle waterlogging. A Rs 90 crore tender was allocated around four months ago, and the agency was finalised to work on the drainage system and create drain casts." — Vishal Rajemahadik
