‘Nothing makes any difference…': Biker to leave Gurugram after assault case accused men were allegedly seen partying

A 27-year-old biker named Hardik Sharma, who was assaulted near the Dwarka Expressway in Delhi NCR, is now planning to leave Gurugram after his parents asked him to quit biking and leave the city, reported the news portal Indian Express on Sunday, April 27. Sharma's case went viral on social media platforms after a car full of people was seen to assault the biker last Sunday. He also highlighted how his family is scared and will not let him reside in Gurugram anymore after the incident. 'Anywhere but here (Gurugram)… my parents will not let me live in this city. It is already decided (for me). Once and for all, no bikes, too, they (parents) said. I have begun packing, I will be moving right away,' Sharma told the news portal. The video, which went viral on social media, showed how four men who were travelling in an SUV stopped and started assaulting Sharma along with some other people from his bikers' group last Sunday. Sharma, a software developer, was travelling with his biker friends on a breakfast ride to Manesar on their individual sports bikes. The four men stopped and started abusing them before getting into a hand-to-hand fight, which seriously injured the victim. As per media reports, the accused, who was responsible for this assault, also allegedly damaged Sharma's sports bike, even though Sharma was seen to request them to let him go. After the incident, Sharma told the news portal that he has decided to move back to his hometown, Hisar, for now, and also revealed that his medical tests show that he is badly injured. 'The doctor said, apart from injuries to the bones, even the bone marrow is injured,' Sharma told the news portal. The four people who assaulted Sharma were arrested on Tuesday, April 22. However, a city court granted them bail the next day. The four men were identified as Bhanu Sharma, who is a gym owner, Deepak Singh, a gym trainer, Pragya Sharma, who leases out cricket grounds, and Rajat Singh, according to the report. Hardik Sharma earlier expressed his dissatisfaction with the police who allegedly took 12 hours to register his complaint. 'That was on the police. Because if you look at the guys and see what they did, they are goondas (thugs)… partying, bragging, and putting up (social media) stories… nothing makes any difference to them,' Sharma told the news portal. On Thursday, Sharma reportedly shared a story on the social media platform Instagram, which showed how one of the accused was seen to be partying with the others. The next hearing date for the bail plea is set to be in August, according to the news portal's report. First Published: 27 Apr 2025, 09:38 PM IST

Gurgaon court grants bail to 4 men who beat up bikers on Dwarka Expressway

A Gurgaon city court on Wednesday granted bail to the four men from West Delhi who were involved in assaulting a group of motorcyclists near the Dwarka Expressway and damaging a high-end bike in an alleged road rage incident on April 20. The police arrested the four accused, all residents of Uttam Nagar, on April 22 after a viral video showed the men in an SUV assaulting and hurling abuses at the bikers who were en route to Manesar. The court granted bail to the accused on furnishing a bond of Rs 1 lakh each and a surety of the same amount. 'They were hurling false accusations against me at the court. They brought more than 35 guys with them to try and intimidate me,' one of the victims, Hardik Sharma, 32, who filed the police complaint, told The Indian Express on Thursday. Sharma, who had come for the hearing, said that one of the accused's wife alleged that they (bikers) were threatening her after the arrest. Station House Officer (SHO) Shahid Ahmed of the Sector 37 police station said the police had opposed the bail plea. The arrested men have been identified as Bhanu Sharma, 33, a gym owner, Deepak Singh, 24, a gym trainer, Pragya Sharma, 23, who leases out cricket grounds, and Rajat Singh, 24. Sharma, a software developer with a popular food delivery company, had earlier expressed his dissatisfaction with the police for not providing any updates on the case, since the offences invoked against the accused were all bailable. Meanwhile, Sharma on Thursday posted on Instagram a story uploaded by one of the accused that showed all four of them partying in a pool with a caption in Hindi that translated to: 'God knows right and wrong. But we did not get into the comment war; whoever is getting too aggressive, come forward and hit on the chest.' The video of the incident that prompted calls for action against the accused showed one of the bikers apologising to the men and pleading with them to let him go, but to no avail. Sharma said his expensive bike was destroyed and alleged that it took him 12 hours to get his complaint accepted.

The complainant, identified as Hardik Sharma, has claimed that the attackers were drunk and has demanded payment of ₹ 4-5 lakh for his damaged high-end sports motorbike, PTI reported citing an official. Speaking to India Today, Sharma told the channel that his group were on their way to eat breakfast when they were allegedly brutally attacked by four 'bodybuilders' with a baseball bat. He added that he tracked the four accused via an artificial intelligence (AI) tool and identified them before going to register a complaint with the police. 'There is an app where if you upload a picture where their face is very clear you can find out which social media they (the attackers) are active on,' Sharma told the channel. As per the report, the tool traced the accused' photos to Instagram, which showed them associated with a gym and bodybuilding. Sharma added that he spent ₹ 600 to use the app, and then used the details from the tool, helmet cam footage, and the attackers' vehicle number to file his FIR with the police. Notably, while the police have not made a statement about the AI tool yet, all of the four accused have been arrested. According to the PTI report, the incident happened on April 20 when the four accused, travelling in a car, and a group of bikers got into an argument. Watch: Gurgaon techie biker beaten for overtaking Scorpio; ₹9 lakh Kawasaki smashed with baseball bat; Accused arrested

Gurgaon biker Synopsis In Gurugram, a group of bikers faced a violent attack. The incident occurred after a rider overtook an SUV. Four men in the SUV chased and assaulted the bikers. They even damaged a Kawasaki Z900 with a baseball bat. A complaint has been filed with the Sector 37 police. Police have initiated an investigation and are looking for the accused. In a violent episode early Monday morning, a group of bikers was assaulted near the Kherki Daula toll plaza after one of them reportedly overtook a black Scorpio SUV. The incident occurred around 7:30am when 11 bikers, en route from Ambience Mall to Manesar, were intercepted and attacked by four men allegedly angered by the overtaking. ADVERTISEMENT Hardik Sharma, a 27-year-old software developer from Hisar, filed a police complaint stating that the SUV was being driven recklessly and attempted to unbalance several bikers. After a brief chase, the bikers pulled over near the Dwarka Expressway to avoid confrontation. 'We stopped to avoid confrontation. What we thought would be a calm ride turned into chaos. The men stopped their SUV and started hurling abuses at us. They tried to pull off our helmets to hit us. Maybe one of us overtook the car earlier and that triggered them,' Sharma said. According to Sharma, one biker had a GoPro camera mounted on his bike, which recorded the assault. The footage, viewed by TOI, shows two men—one wearing yellow shorts and a grey T-shirt, and the other in a sleeveless red vest and track pants—physically attacking the bikers. One of the men is also seen questioning a biker about a gesture and taking pictures of their bike number plates. 'We tried to de-escalate the situation, but they started throwing punches. Most of the bikers ran from the spot. I fled too but returned when I saw one of our friends was stuck with them. Then they caught me and the other biker escaped. I even apologised for something I didn't do, but they began swinging a baseball bat at me,' Sharma said, adding that: 'Fortunately, it hit my helmet and not my head.'Sharma said he suffered injuries to his thigh, hands, and wrist. The attackers also smashed his Kawasaki Z900 motorcycle, valued between ₹8-9 lakh, with a baseball bat. He added that the SUV occupants brandished knives and issued death threats before fleeing. ADVERTISEMENT The group reached the toll plaza and sought police help. 'But the police didn't help. We waited at the toll for nearly half an hour. It took more than six hours just to determine which police station had jurisdiction to file the case,' Sharma alleged. Eventually, the Sector 37 police station registered an FIR under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including criminal intimidation, use of deadly weapons, common intention, rash driving, wrongful restraint, and endangering life. ADVERTISEMENT Sharma said the group provided GoPro video footage and used an app called FaceCheck ID to trace the accused through their social media profiles. Responding to the allegations, police denied any delay. 'An investigation is underway and crucial details and leads have been gathered. The suspects involved in the assault and vandalism have been identified and will be apprehended shortly. Further probe is on,' a police statement said.
