2025 Arkansas Girls State wraps up at Harding University
SEARCY, Ark. – The 2025 American Legion Auxiliary Arkansas Girls State program wrapped up at Harding University on Friday.
Girls State organizers shared on Facebook that more than 600 delegates, 90 counselors and 20 staff participated this year.
Some of the Girls State officers elected this year include Laila Taylor from Academies of West Memphis as governor, Olivia Whitt from Southside High School as lieutenant governor and Ella Williams from Benton High School as secretary of state.

On Friday, officials also announced that Ally Hobson from White Hall High School and Joann Kimm from Valley View High School will be going to Washington D.C. to represent Arkansas as Girls Nation senators. Eva Orr from Heber Springs High School was selected as an alternate.
The Arkansas Girls State summer program is designed to inform girls in their junior year of high school about participating in government and the duties and responsibilities of public officials.
