Leaving Cert hacks: How students can maximise their brain power for their exams
It's Leaving Cert time again - here we look at science-backed ways to give your best during the stressful exam period
When I was a student, way back in the mists of time, I developed a tried and tested strategy for surviving exam season, built on four key principles: sleep-deprivation, white-knuckle panic, energy drinks and industrial quantities of Haribo Tangfastic.
It worked out sort of OK in the end. Though the smell of fizzy cola bottles can still, to this day, bring me right back into that jittery, twitchy state of anxiety, self-recrimination and dread that became a core memory forever associated with early summer and the words, 'you may turn over and begin'.
