Post office assistant accused of Rs52L fraud
Lucknow: A financial scam has come to light at the LDA Colony Sub-Post Office in Lucknow, where over Rs 52 lakh of depositors has allegedly been embezzled through fraudulent account activity.
The matter was brought to the notice of Krishna Nagar police by Harihar Nath Mani Tripathi, assistant superintendent of the west postal subdivision who filed a formal complaint on to the complaint, Dipu Yadav, a temporary daily-wage worker earlier attached to the LDA Colony Sub-Post Office, was removed from service in his exit, the office received multiple complaints from account holders regarding misuse of their deposited funds. Investigations revealed that Yadav had fraudulently opened fake or misused accounts, issued unauthorized passbooks, and misappropriated far, complaints regarding the misappropriation of Rs 52,43,949 have been received, and departmental investigations are ongoing, said assistant commissioner of police, Krishna Nagar, Vikas Pandey. Authorities suspect that more such fraudulent transactions may be uncovered during the course of the commissioner of police, Krishna Nagar, Vikas Pandey said police have launched an investigation into the matter based on the FIR filed, and further probe against name accused is being conducted.
