Man wanted for terroristic threats arrested in the Upstate
OCONEE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A man wanted in Georgia was arrested Saturday following a traffic stop in Oconee County.
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office said 42-year-old Harold Fanklin Curry Jr., of Toccoa, Georgia, was booked into the detention center following a traffic stop near the Foxwood Hills Community.
Deputies said a stop was initiated in the area of Blackjack Road and Mount Pleasant Road when a driver in a Buick Lucerne was observed committing a traffic violation. The driver was identified as Curry.
While searching the vehicle, authorities located drugs inside the car and Curry was placed under arrest. The sheriff's office charged the suspect with possession of methamphetamine.
Further into the investigation, deputies learned that the suspect was a fugitive from Stephens County for allegedly making terroristic threats. Curry was held on a temporary custody order until deputies could charge the individual with fugitive from justice.
Curry was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on a $10,000 bond.
On Monday morning, he was transferred to the Stephens County Sheriff's Office.
The incident remains under investigation by the OCSO.
