Arabella Stanton's Audition As Hermione Granger Reminds Fans Of Emma Watson

An audition tape featuring Arabella Stanton, who has been signed on as Hermione Granger in the upcoming Harry Potter series by HBO, has left many impressed on social media. It has even drawn major comparisons to the original portrayal by Emma Watson in the film adaptation.
This comes days after the broadcaster officially announced the casting of Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Stanton as Hermione and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley for its upcoming TV series. The show will be based on JK Rowling's books of the same name.
In the viral video, Stanton can be seen reciting some of the lines of the iconic character from the Harry Potter series with confidence and ease.
Showcasing great skill and screen presence, the 11-year-old actor delivers the lines just as Hermoine would.
The video has gained significant attention on Instagram, garnering more than two lakh likes.

While Harry Potter fans have already given a thumbs up to the casting choices, the audition clip of Arabella Stanton further strengthens their belief that she would do justice to the character.
In the comments section, several users have praised Stanton over her acting skills. 'She is excellent. That dialogue delivery and expression is spot on," one person wrote.
Another one suggested that she is 'going to be great" as Hermoine.
A fan wrote that Stanton is 'literally perfect for this role," adding that she was not too much excited about the remake of Harry Potter, but is 'looking forward to it now."
Meanwhile, some of them compared Stanton with Emma Watson. One person asked, 'Why does she sound like Emma Watson?"
Another user suggested that she looked like a mix of Watson and Jenna Ortega.
'This is crazy, she sounds JUST like Emma," a third one added.
Notably, Stanton made her professional debut in 2023. She came into the limelight after her performance in Matilda: The Musical on the West End. Fans are now eagerly waiting to witness her as Hermione, a role which gave Emma Watson global recognition.
More than 30,000 actors auditioned for the roles of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. This came after HBO announced an open casting call last fall.
The Harry Potter film series began with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in 2001. It featured Daniel Radcliffe in the lead role, while Rupert Grint appeared as Ron. The final films in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and 2 came out in 2010 and 2011, respectively.
The filming for the upcoming HBO's Harry Potter series is all set to begin this summer.
