No tender data on govt portal, MCG engineer handed notice
Gurgaon: The
MCG chief engineer
served a show-cause notice on the
executive engineer
for not uploading
tender data
on the
Haryana Engineering Works portal
(HEWP) and for not uploading the action taken report (ATR) as instructed.
"You were directed to dispose of the pending cases on the HEWP portal and upload the final ATR within five days positively… but a huge number of cases are still pending, which indicates negligence on your part," read the official notice recently served to the engineer.
The chief engineer has reiterated the order, saying that any further delay will be "viewed seriously". The executive engineer has now been asked to immediately clear the backlog and submit a completion report to the chief engineer's office.
"There are clear directions from the state government that the estimates uploaded on the HEWP should be disposed of to offload the portal," Dhaka told TOI. "The idea is to maintain an accurate record of the number of works executed, deferred, or cancelled.
But despite repeated instructions, the executive engineer failed to comply."
The HEWP is a centralised platform where all
public tenders
related to state infrastructure works are uploaded. Officials said the backlog is partly due to the portal's earlier lack of functionality to delete or archive outdated estimates, leading to the unnecessary accumulation of data.
Dhaka, who assumed charge as chief engineer on March 29, has introduced a series of accountability measures within the department. He had previously directed engineers to conduct site visits before preparing project estimates.
