Twelve men accused of revenge plot after man killed in Glasgow
Twelve men are set to appear at the High Court in Glasgow accused of a violent revenge plot in the crimes are said to have been sparked following the death of 32-year-old Omar Sadiq in Pollok on 15 September Uddin, 32, was jailed for six years in 2021 after he admitted stabbing and killing his indictment claims that 12 men - including the victim's brother Kashif Sadiq - conspired together and with others to assault and endanger the lives of "relatives and associates" of Uddin.
The trial will begin in August 2026 and is expected to last seven weeks.
The 2021 trial at the High Court in Glasgow heard how Mr Sadiq had gone to Uddin's flat in Pollok with his wife, Uddin's sister, after it emerged Uddin was planning to leave his wife Iqraa couple brought a dog with them to the flat, which Uddin and his wife were unhappy was heard yelling: "Who are you bringing a dog into my house?"The court heard there was then an "altercation" between the men and Mr Sadiq was struck twice with a hunting knife. After Mr Sadiq and his wife left the property, he discovered he was bleeding flagged down a passing police car for assistance and it was found he had two stab was rushed to hospital but never was accused of murdering Mr Sadiq but prosecutors accepted his guilty plea to the lesser charge of culpable homicide.
