Mithun Chakraborty's Son Claims Bollywood ‘Insulted' His Parents
Last Updated:
Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mimoh Chakraborty, recently spoke about how Bollywood's top actors insulted his parents, recalling that it became too much for him.
Mahaakshay Chakraborty, son of actors Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali, has delivered notable performances in movies like Haunted 3d and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. Also known as Mimoh Chakraborty, the actor recently opened up about the harsh criticism he faced in the film industry. During a recent interview, Mimoh recalled how Bollywood's top actors insulted his parents, Mithun Chakraborty and Yogeeta Bali.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Mimoh revealed how he dealt with family criticism and scrutiny. He said, 'The meanest things were like they were making fun of my mom. I would understand for my dad, yes, carrying his legacy. Mere zariye, they were insulting dad, because you cannot pinpoint and say ki Mithun Chakraborty isme kharab tha. It's because his legacy is so strong, toh unko laga chalo Mimoh ke through humlog Mithun Chakraborty ko bhi gaali de denge."
The 40-year-old actor added, 'So they weren't writing my name, they said Mithun Chakraborty's son, Mithun da ka beta, so they wanted to feel good, whoever they were. But then it became too much, and it was going to my mother. And there were actors in the industry who did that."
Mimoh recalled how many top actors were doing the same, saying, 'Forget normal people, audience, it was people from the industry jo khule aam jaake mom ka mazaak uda rahe the. And it became a little too much for me. Ki yaar mere tak thik hai, dad tak thik hai, but mom pe mat jaao, (it is fine with me, it is fine with dad, but don't go on mother.) You know. But then I know we all go through this."
He also talked about the pressure of carrying his father's legacy in the film industry. 'Pehele lagta tha, abhi nahi lagta hai. (I used to feel that before, but not now). Abhi, I am just playing the characters, which I believe in. Because kya hoga, if I go on set thinking that every shot has to be better than my father, woh kabhi nahi ho payega; because he is him. Mithun Chakraborty will always be one Mithun Chakraborty. I can't imitate him. Even if I do, I won't be able to reach his stature, and I just want to be Mimoh," he said.
The actor concluded that he wants to be remembered by his own legacy. 'Now, when you see Khakee, I was in it, I cannot compete with my father, and I don't want to compete with him. I just want to be Mimoh," he added.
