‘Lilo & Stitch' Hits The Top 10 As The Movie Dominates The Box Office

After less than a month in theaters, Lilo & Stitch is already the third highest-grossing film of 2025. The live-action remake of the Disney animated classic has so far brought in more than $600 million globally, and it will likely continue to meaningfully add to that sum as the film remains a must-see for entire families. The music featured in the updated Lilo & Stitch is also proving successful. In the United Kingdom this week, the soundtrack debuts on two rankings. Due to its length, it's not classified as an album. Instead, it opens inside the top 10 on both the Official Vinyl Singles chart and the Official Physical Singles list, as EPs sometimes count as "singles." The project launches at No. 8 on the vinyl-only tally and No. 9 on the list of the top-selling releases across all physical formats. Both charts' top 10s include a number of new arrivals that land just ahead of Lilo & Stitch. Those efforts include cuts by artists like Pulp, Olivia Dean, and Senses, while popular past releases from acts such as Oasis, Ed Sheeran, and Madonna rebound and place just ahead of the Disney set. The vinyl edition of the Lilo & Stitch soundtrack features just three songs. On side A is "He Lei Pāpahi No Lilo a me Stitch" by Mark Kealiʻi Hoʻomalu and the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus, a brand new composition crafted for this updated version of the movie. Joining it on the front side is a cover of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride," a beloved tune this time performed by American Idol winner Iam Tongi and, again, the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus. Side B includes a rendition of "Burning Love," originally made famous by Elvis Presley. This version is covered by Nyjah Music and Zyah Rhythm and produced by their uncle, superstar Bruno Mars. A score was also released alongside the Lilo & Stitch score, which was composed by Dan Romer this time around. Some versions of the soundtrack include both the trio of tracks as well as instrumental versions.

‘Lilo & Stitch' Charted A No. 1 Hit In America Before The Movie Was Rleeased

Iam Tongi's 'Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride' re-recording hits No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales ... More chart ahead of the Lilo & Stitch remake release. Rodriguez/Getty Images for Disney) The live action/animated remake of Lilo & Stitch hit theaters in the United States on Friday, May 23. The picture reimagines the 2002 Disney classic, hopefully introducing it to a younger audience, and making them fall in love with the weird, blue creature, just as millennials did before — and a new film means new music. Even before the movie arrived in cinemas, Lilo & Stitch already managed to make an impact on the charts. A new recording tied to the project becomes a No. 1 hit on a Billboard tally this week. As excitement around the movie surged, a single was issued ahead of the soundtrack's release. A re-recording of the classic "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" was covered by Iam Tongi and the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus. The singer is best known as the winner of the twenty-first season of American Idol. The new cut instantly debuts at No. 1 on the World Digital Song Sales chart, giving the family franchise another Billboard win. As the updated version of "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" arrives on the World Digital Song Sales chart, another take on the same tune also reappears. The version originally featured in the 2002 film — credited to Mark Keali'i Ho'omalu and, again, the Kamehameha Schools Children's Chorus — returns at No. 4. That position marks the tune's all-time peak on the list. That placement comes after a remarkable 382 weeks somewhere on the world genre ranking. The Lilo & Stitch soundtrack dropped several days after "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride" in full. It includes a score by Dan Romer, a brand new tune titled "He Lei Pāpahi No Lilo a me Stitch" written specifically for the film, and a cover of Elvis Presley's "Burning Love," performed by Nyjah Music & Zyah Rhythm. The updated performance of the legendary tune – which was also featured in the original movie – was produced by Bruno Mars, who also happens to be the uncle of the two young talents lending their voices to the track.
