Current LSU commit to reportedly make final decision between Tigers, Alabama According to a report from On3's Hayes Fawcett, the Alabama Crimson Tide could be emerging in the recruitment of current LSU Tigers commit Kenny Darby. Per the report, Darby, a long-time LSU commit, will now be making a final decision surrounding his recruitment July 4 where he will choose between the Tigers and Alabama. After making the playoff, Texas reached the semifinal round by beating the Clemson Tiger and Arizona State Sun Devils. The Longhorns eventually lost to Ohio State 28-14, who won the national championship. Texas opens the 2025 season against Ohio State on Aug. 30. SEC Rival Beats Alabama Out For Elite In-State Recruit

The Alabama Crimson Tide has the second-most national titles in college football, at 16. On the way to winning those titles, Alabama had to conference rivals like the Auburn Tigers, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Ole Miss Rebels. Advertisement On3's Hayes Fawcett reported Friday that Ole Miss secured the commitment of 2026 receiver Corey Barber. Barber picked Ole Miss over Alabama, the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Miami Hurricanes. While Ole Miss is not as big of a rival to Alabama as Auburn or Tennessee, the Rebels have caused problems for the Crimson Tide in the past. Ole Miss beat Alabama in consecutive years in 2014 and 2015. Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer leads his team onto the field. John David Mercer-Imagn Images Barber is a four-star prospect and the No. 43 wide receiver in the On3 Industry Rankings. The recruit also held offers from the Texas A&M Aggies, Oregon Ducks, Penn State Nittany Lions, Washington Huskies and others. Advertisement If he had committed to Alabama, he would have joined five-star cornerback Jorden Edmonds, four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, four-star edge rusher Jamarion Matthews, four-star inside offensive lineman Chris Booker and four-star defensive lineman Kamhariyan Johnson. Ole Miss' 2026 class contains four-star linebacker Izayia Williams, four-star running back Damarius Yates, Barber, three-star receiver Jameson Powell, three-star quarterback Rees Wise, three-star athlete Zion Legree, three-star running back Ja'Michael Jones and three-star corner Braylen Williams. Alabama finished 9-4 in DeBoer's first season in Tuscaloosa. His biggest include No. 2 Georgia, No. 15 LSU Tigers and No. 21 Missouri Tigers. However, his losses were to the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers, Vanderbilt Commodores, Oklahoma Sooners and Michigan Wolverines. Related: Alabama Named a Finalist for No. 2 Recruit in Ohio
