Sorensen in the dark on Goodison Park move
Everton manager Brian Sorensen says he knows nothing about a rumoured move to Goodison Park for the women's team next Toffees host Tottenham at Walton Hall Park on Saturday in their final home game of the Women's Super League season the men's side will leave Goodison Park for a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, and there has been speculation that the women's team will permanently move into Goodison having played there occasionally asked by BBC Sport whether the Spurs match will be their final game at Walton Hall, Sorensen said: "I know as much as you know. We will see what will happen."Everton could finish as high as sixth in the WSL if they beat Spurs and other results go their they will face the London side without midfielders Hayley Ladd and Mel Lawley, who Sorensen said have come down with illness this a top-half finish would represent a strong season for Everton, who beat local rivals Liverpool at Anfield last weekend."We'll try to end as good as we can, there is a good vibe after beating Liverpool again," Sorensen said. "It has been a long and tiring season, the longest I have had, so I am looking forward to a break."But we want to end on a high. We could end up in sixth, which no one would have thought 10 games ago."

Euros preparation and celebrating team-mates
Uefa Women's Nations League: Wales v DenmarkVenue: Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff Date: Friday, 4 April Kick-off: 19:15 BSTCoverage: Live on BBC One Wales, BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru, the BBC Sport website and app, plus live text commentaryHighlights: S4C and iPlayer, 21:50 GMT and later on demand. In her latest BBC Sport column, Olivia Clark discusses Wales' start to their Nations League campaign, the Euros being on the horizon, her team-mates Mayzee Davies and Hayley Ladd and her hopes for 2025 with new club Leicester City. We are back on camp after our opening Nations League games and everyone is in good Sweden game was a great one to be involved with, we were disappointed not to win, but their ranking doesn't lie and it was great to get a result against a top-tier nation.I think we produced a good performance and that came off the back of the Italy game where we were disappointed to lose we come into these games targeting six points. We don't feel out of place in Nations League we have players now who are playing in some of the biggest leagues in the world and I think that helps to give us belief as a squad that we can be competitive against have played a lot of top nations, like the USA and we've produced good performances but not got the results, but I think now the mindset change is that we believe we can compete with the Wilkinson has helped with that but there is also a balance that we have perspective about what we've done in the past. We tend to always be better in the second game in the Nations League as are definitely becoming more comfortable with the ball. In one of our previous best draws, against England at St Mary's Stadium, which was before my time, England had a lot of we are more comfortable and against Sweden I didn't really have a clear cut chance to save. We aren't just holding on for a point. We are competitive and we are trying to win games. Big performances in big games There were two momentous performances in the last camp, with Mayzee Davies winning her first start and Hayley Ladd winning her 100th was great, she came in and did so well and she's a great character to have around as well, she takes everything in her stride.I asked her if she was ok and she was like "yeah", chilled as anything and she played like she's been around for years and you can tell she's been training with Man City's first made her 100th appearance for Wales on the last camp and what an honour for her, a special player and as a player is unbelievable, she's so underrated and under appreciated in the whole of the women's game, as her team-mates, we know how good she don't talk about her as much as they should but she probably likes it like that, as she is so low one of our greatest assets. She was unbelievable in midfield and when she plays in our defence it's great for me as a a person she is probably one of the loveliest people you will ever meet and I get on with her really well. She's always interested in other people, she's great at guiding the younger players and she also has this calmness about her. But when something needs to be said? Hayley will say it. She's so respected by all of us. Denmark a tough test but ideal Euros preparation We prepare now for what we know will be two tough games, starting with Denmark in Cardiff on will be hard, we know that. The last time they played us in Wales in the Nations League in 2023 they won 5-1, but that seems a while ago now, we've progressed a lot since then and we played a lot better in Denmark in the away tie.I don't expect the game to go like it did on that night when we lost 5-1, we know Denmark are a good side, but we feel that we are a good side and we have really developed how we play with the ball and in is ideal preparation for Euro 2025. The Euros is becoming very real now, it's over four months since we qualified and it has absolutely flown by, it feels like yesterday.I think I watch the video of us qualifying for the Euros most FAW did a montage to Adwaith's song, Fel i Fod and that has become a mainstay on my playlist, I probably listen to that song every day as well, it has become the soundtrack to our emotions come flooding back so quickly. It's pretty surreal that Switzerland will come around so quickly. This is the last camp before our domestic season ends and then we will have just one more camp before the Euros begin. Feeling very settled at my club In terms of my club football, I am really enjoying my time with Leicester City so far, everything has been absolutely spot-on and the only thing missing for me at the moment is game time, everything else is spot is such a good club to be at, I wake up in the mornings excited to go to training and I come home and feel productive. People don't see that, they just look at the teamsheet and say 'you didn't play' but there is a lot more to it than that, especially if you are a goalkeeper.I feel in a really good place at the minute. I was happy with my performances for Wales on the last have to be so patient and wait for your chance. It happened to me at Bristol City, I got loaned out to Watford but ended up playing seven WSL (Women's Super League) games in a can't predict what is going to happen. But hopefully the game time will come.

January signings shining for Everton
Everton endured a poor start to the 2024-25 WSL campaign, picking up just nine points (two wins, three draws) and scoring six goals in their opening 10 matches. However, since the New Year, they've won two and drawn one of their five matches and found the back of the net eight times. Following Sunday's 2-0 away win over Aston Villa, they've climbed up to eighth in the table and are 10 points clear of bottom-placed Crystal Palace. Though far from mathematically safe, with only seven matches remaining, their relegation fears have eased considerably. Central to their upturn in form, particularly in front of goal, has been the impact of their January signings. Everton were the busiest side during the transfer window, signing Hayley Ladd from Manchester United, Kelly Gago from Nantes, and Maren Mjelde and bringing in three players (Martina Fernandez, Louna Ribadeira, and Emma Watson) on loan. Gago has made the biggest impact, scoring three goals in five league matches since the WSL resumed in mid-January, and although she was kept off the scoresheet by Aston Villa, she remained a nuisance in attack, linking up well with forward Toni Payne on a number of occasions and bullying Aston Villa's defenders with her pace. Late in the second half, she breezed past Anna Patten and found the side-netting with a shot from an acute angle and had she been more selfish in the final third throughout the game, she would likely have added another goal to her tally. Highly experienced defender Mjelde, previously of Chelsea, poached the opening goal against Villa, reacting fastest to a bouncing ball in the box before dispatching a cool volley over goalkeeper Sabrina D'Angelo, while Ladd and Fernandez were in the starting XI for the fifth successive match since their respective arrivals. It's early days but you suspect Everton will be satisfied with how their winter recruits have settled in.

Everton considering making Goodison Park new home for women's team
Everton are considering making Goodison Park the new home for the club's women's team. The men's team are set to leave their historic Goodison Park home of 133 years to the Everton Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock at the start of the 2025-26 Premier League season. The 52,888-seater stadium — a £760million ($958m) development including ancillary works — is viewed as a necessary upgrade to Goodison Park's capacity of 39,500. Advertisement The departure of the men's team has opened the possibility of Everton Women, who play in the Women's Super League, moving into the stadium full-time, according to sources who wished to remain anonymous to protect relationships. Everton Women currently play their home matches at Walton Hall Park, a 2,200-capacity stadium (500 seats) located in Walton, Liverpool, five miles outside the city centre. Walton Hall Park has been the team's home since 2020, after moving from Haig Avenue, the home of National League North side Southport FC located almost 20 miles north of the city. Walton Hall Park's limitations — its size, location from the city centre, lack of appropriate seating, lack of shelter from the elements and restricted catering options — however, are not seen as conducive to growing the profile and appeal of the women's team for potential fans, a goal set by new owners The Friedkin Group (TFG), which took over the club in December. The ground is owned by Liverpool Council and rented by the club, meaning any facility enhancement would need to be agreed in conjunction with the council. TFG has vowed to invest significantly in the women's team. This was reflected in the January transfer window as the club brought in five players including midfielder Hayley Ladd from Manchester United, France forward Kelly Gago from Nantes and the loan signing of Barcelona defender Martina Fernandez in a boost to Brian Sorensen's historically underfunded side. A move to Goodison Park is perceived as another sign of the owners' ambition to breathe life back into the two-time FA Cup winners. The WSL also has a league-wide average attendance target every season as part of the Partnership Agreement with the collective clubs. While individual teams are not held to specific attendance targets, growing average attendance remains a priority for clubs to consider. Advertisement The option of making Goodison Park the full-time home of the women's team arrives as the future of the historic ground remains unknown. In April 2020, the club submitted an outline for the Goodison Legacy Project to local government. The plan suggested several ways in which the 3.39-hectare site can remain an important community asset beyond the Everton men's departure, including affordable and social housing, a community health and medical centre, residential care, an enterprise building, a new education centre, offices, community-focused retail, three residential towers and a park. Moving Everton Women to Goodison Park full-time is viewed as not a replacement for the Legacy Project but a means of supplementing it. No decision on the Legacy Project and a possible move for the women's team can be made until the men's first team officially leave the ground and relocate to the new stadium. In the WSL, only Leicester City share the club's main stadium with the men's team for all home matches, though Arsenal Women committed to playing 11 matches at the Emirates this season, making it their main home ground. Brighton & Hove Albion submitted a proposal in 2023, since approved, to build a new purpose-built stadium for the women's team by 2027-28.
