I'm a midlife make-up artist & give myself a face lift through my eyes & brows – it's about where you place the products

A MIDLIFE make-up artist has shared her clever tricks for achieving a lifted look through simple adjustments in eye and brow makeup placement. Carina, who is passionate about empowering women in their prime, walked her 12.5k TikTok followers through a step-by-step guide on her page, ' primalwoman_ '. 2 Carina explained that the key to achieving a lifted appearance lies in how you apply and position your products, and this will avoid you having 'to go down the injectable route.' She began by using a matte mid-tone eyeshadow shade, brushing it across the eyelid and extending it higher than usual to create a semi-circle shape that lifts the eye area. Next, she applied a light, shimmery eyeshadow to the centre of the eyelid to brighten and enhance the look. Rather than using heavy liquid eyeliner, Carina opted for a matte dark brown eyeshadow applied with a push brush along the lash line. She gently flicked the liner outward toward the edge of the brow to create definition and lift. For brows, she used a micro pencil to mimic natural hairs, focusing on light strokes and emphasising the arch, while ensuring the tail of the brow kicked outward for a lifted effect. To brighten under the eyes, Carina applied a lighter concealer to the inner corners and extended it upwards toward the hairline, blending it with a fan brush for a seamless finish. 'There's no harsh edges and if you need to go back in and you feel you want more just go back in,' she explains. Carina also recommended mixing bronzer with a light-reflecting serum for a natural wash of colour that enhances the lifted look. For blusher, she suggested combining liquid blush with a glowing primer and applying it to the highest points of the cheeks to push the colour upwards. Primark drops brand new Benefit dupes ahead of summer - there's a copycat of the iconic bronzer and even a freckle pen Finally, Carina shared her lip technique, focusing on the centre of the lips with a plumping gloss and avoiding heavy liner application to maintain balance between the eyes and lips. Carina's video has gained 120.5k views and 89 comments after just one day of sharing it. Many couldn't believe how much makeup could make a difference, with one writing: 'That's is unbelievable the difference just with make up!' To which Carina replied: 'I know it's nuts! Who needs surgery?' 2 A second added: 'Love your technique.' Whilst a third said: 'Wow the difference is wild!' Top 3 beauty products every woman should be using Hayley Walker, Beauty Expert at Justmylook shared the holy-grail products every woman needs to be using. A cleanser, SPF, and hair oil are must-haves within beauty routines. A cleanser is crucial for healthy skin as it removes dirt, oil, and other impurities for flawless skin. This skincare step not only cleanses the face and removes dirt, but also prevents breakouts and premature skin ageing, helping you maintain a healthy, youthful, and blemish-free complexion. The Aveeno Face Calm+ Restore Nourishing Oat Cleanser is a go-to of mine due to its gentle formula that soothes and restores the skin's appearance and texture. SPF is non-negotiable and should be in everyone's daily skincare routine. Even on cooler, cloudier days, our skin is exposed to the sun's UV rays which can be harmful to unprotected skin and even lead to damage. These damages include sunburn, pigmentation changes, and wrinkles which can impact the skin's texture and appearance. In some cases, prolonged exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer. Applying SPF daily prevents these damages and protects the skin from harmful rays. I recommend the Beauty Of Joseon Rice & Prebiotic Sunscreen PA++++ SPF50+ for its lightweight, non-clumping texture that absorbs quickly for a natural finish and maximum protection. Hair oil has many benefits and should be regularly used. This treatment can strengthen and protect the hair from external stressors while improving its appearance and shine. Regularly applying hair oil can also reduce breakage and even encourage hair growth for longer, fuller locks. Hair oils also target the scalp, reducing dandruff and improving its health through exfoliation. I recommend using this deeply nourishing treatment a couple of times a week or more depending on the hair's moisture levels. The Hair Syrup Rapunzel Pre-Wash Oil Treatment is a nutrient-rich treatment that revitalises strands to promote a happy scalp and healthy-looking locks. Apply the syrup throughout damp hair before washing; massage from root to tip and allow the formula to penetrate strands before rinsing and styling.
