Each week the Clarion Ledger highlights the achievements of outstanding local high school students. Out of five nominees, there can only be one Jackson Metro Student of the Week.
The votes are in.
McClain Ellis is the Clarion Ledger's Jackson Metro Student of the Week for Feb. 23- March 1.
A sophomore at Germantown High School, Ellis is a dedicated leader, honor roll student, as well as an active member of the school's Health Care Academy, cheerleading team, Beta Club and yearbook staff.
Ellis is always eager and willing to help others. Her dedication and work ethic are displayed in all aspects of her academic and extra-curricular activities. She provides community service through various organizations. Ellis will take on any challenge, whether academic or personal, which is why she has been recognized by Germantown High School staff as Model Maverick Student of the month.

You can vote to decide the next Jackson Metro Student of the Week. Polls open Monday mornings and close Thursdays at noon. Winners are announced on Friday.
